The Little Fir- Tree Deep in the forest, quite hidden from view among the tall pines a small FirTree grew. The taller trees laughed when they heard the fir moan, "I wish I were taller, I can't wait 'til I'm grown!" A traditional winter's tale from Hans Christian Andersen, The Little Fir- Tree is here retold with all the magic of the original storyteller. Beautifully illustrated by Caroline Pedler, this book captures the thrill of a traditional childhood Christmas. This is a great story to tell at Christmas time! This version is retold from the original storyteller but still feels magical and the illustrations are beautiful. This story makes us appreciate what we already have. Due to the simple nature of the words and flow of the story I would recommend this book for 5-8 year olds.
Great for Christmas time! This simple yet wonderful book explains for aa tress perspective what it is like to be picked out, brought home, and decorated for Christmas. In a private school this could be used to help celebrate Christmas and even encourage students to go pick a real tree. The story also shows the growth of a tree and hw size determines if the tree is ready to be taken home. Perfect for grades k-4 due to simple language and a clear flow of the story!
