A collection of myths and apocryphal rock tales that have come straight from the mouths of those that were there, those that shouldn't have been there, and those that were there but left early and only heard about it afterwards, this book gets to the bottom of the rumours and half-truths that have spawned legends.
Reads like a mid-90s Loaded magazine, I was disturbed to find out that the rampant homophobia, jokes about mental health and "penetrating" a young Charlotte Church dare from 2007! I remember 2007, and people definitely knew better than this suggests.
Even with that put aside, none of the stories have any depth or interest, and Holmes' attempts at being funny throughout and painfully self-satisfied. I've seriously had more entertaining root canal.
Brilliant book to dip in and out of....various rock apocrypha (as the name suggests), delivered with Jon Holmes' unique humour and irreverence - making it a most enjoyable read.
