Hey! My name is Sarah Brianne and after living for twenty-two years the characters in my head told me enough was enough and I have finally put pen to paper (or is it finger to keyboard?) to tell their stories. Since I was a little girl I have watched every chick flick I could get my hands on, then when I became older I discovered a whole new world of romance novels. To me there is nothing better then a tale of true love and those are the stories that have inspired me to write. Like everything else in my life I have put my own spin on two lovers destined to be together.

XOXO,
Sarah Brianne

DISAPPOINTMENT !!!

This book is unnecessary, only one would have been enough.
It is very similar to Chloe's book with the difference that it doesn´t have retelling, so it is a little better.

"I'm going to tell you something I've never told another soul on this earth...
I have a heart."

Hmmm... Where should I start???
First of all, Maria's turn, as it was Luca's as well, was one of my most anticipated books of this series, and now, I can say that I'm a little bit disappointed...
Who knows, maybe the second part will redeem me, but at this moment, I can't be anything more than plain... disappointed!!!!

"She was a lioness, and she would take a fucking lioness's side in killing a wolf any day."

The truth is that I was waiting more of Maria... And from Kayne... And from Dominic...
The story was full of flaws and the pace was felt a little bit too rush, as the last two books in the series!!!
I don't think that i got enough of this book!!!! The storyline was very abrupt...
And it was lucking of sentiment... Oh! It was also lucking the feisty and determined woman that we all met in the previous books!!!!

"It was like she felt... equal to a man in this crazy mafia world."

I also wanted more time with Dominic!!!! Yeah, I'm team Dominic for an unknown reason, even though i like Kayne too!!!! But I think that the book was more focused on Maria and Kayne...
Also, we had many repeats for once again...
And the cliffy... hmmm... It was okay!!!! I just needed more... More of everything...
More passion... More intensity... More plot... More Dominic...
Now, it felt flat and I'm just craving for something else...

"There's only one thing about you that scares me, Maria Caruso... and that's how I'm starting to feel about you."

I need feisty, bitchy Maria back... I need to see her backbone that I know that she has...
I need that ruthless man that Dominic is.... His feelings somehow seems a little bit off , especially since there weren't much encounters with his princess...
And Kayne... I think that he is hiding something very serious...
Of course, i will read the next book, cause I'm way too curious for my own good, but please, Sarah, make the things right!!! Give them back the passion in their souls that i know they are having, but they didn't show in here!!!!

Love triangles never work for Sarah. It makes no sense to me the character that ends up living in the end of the book because they make no sense as a couple. All the angst was unnecessary and it’s so painful to me to say this but this was my last book in the series, it was awful. I felt that the one that died was the one she chose but as he is dead, she ends with the other one. I’m sorry Sarah I LOVED your other books but this one wasn’t for me

Quite frankly I am confused.
I have been waiting for this book for such a long time it seems like forever. And while I am not fully disappointed, I was expecting more from Maria. I love her character a lot. She's amazingly created as a feminist figure with many issues which adds to each book she appears in. However, I knew from the start that I won't enjoy the book fully as it was a triangle thing, and if there is one thing I can't stand is when two guys are fighting for one girl. It seems too Twilight like for me. Yet, I love Dominic a lot after Drago's book. And here comes another problem - there was too much of Kayne and too little of Dominic. It had no proportions as far as scenes with them are concerned. The last thing that I couldn't move past was the end. I know it probably is a gradual process of what is to come in the next book, but there was something missing for me.
HOWEVER,
It's not all bad. I really loved that Sarah put Lucca, Nero and, especially, Leo in the book. Like they weren't just there in the background but actually had a role in the book. But I would love Angel to make an appearance as a brother of Dominic. What's more the writing always is on the point and I couldn't even skip any part because it sucked me in fully. I like the sweet torture that Sarah gave us in anticipation for yet another book, and hopefully this one will bring all the answers that I need.

I hate to say it but I was disappointed with this book. I love this series and have enjoyed Maria’s character in all the other books and was really looking forward to her story. This book was only 169 pages. For the amount of time it appeared to take to write this book I was expecting there to be more to it. The relationships Maria had with both Kayne and Dom lacked depth and there really wasn’t time in the 169 pages for a relationship to develop between one male character let alone two. Maria went from being a hard ass character in previous books to being a disappointment in this book. I don’t feel like enough effort or thought went into this story when it should have been the best one yet. Really there isn’t even a HEA. Why would she settle for the second guy just cause he killed the other one? I know there is going to be a book 8 from the male POV but really if it ends at the same spot as this book then to me it’s not a complete story.

I have been waiting for Maria's book for a long time, for almost four years. It all started with Vincent's book where Maria and Kayne first met during graduation. Many readers might not remember the scene. Even I don't know why I loved that scene and I wanted more. I knew in that instant that there would be more Maria and Kayne. I have waited so patiently for her and Kayne to get together. After Lucca's book, I was hoping for Maria's book. When the author announced that It would be Angel's book, I was disappointed. There's the scene in Angel's book, where Maria ran into him at the movie theatre and talked to him. It's the best scene, for me at least. So when the author publically announced that Maria's book would come out this year, I was so excited. Finally! We would be getting Maria and Kayne's book. But when the author revealed the blurb, I was shocked. A triangle love story! Dominic Luciano! No no nooo. It never crossed my mind. It has always been Kayne and Maria for me.

Dominic and Maria's first meeting at Drago's book was nothing, nothing compared to Maria and Kayne's two previous meetings. There's no chemistry, no spark between Dominic and Maria. Dominic barely had any time with Maria. The scenes in which Dominic came to the big house and talked to her, the dance at the wedding. Suddenly almost at 90%, Dominic expresses his feelings for her which to me makes no sense. I was scrolling through social media the other day and I saw that the majority were team Dominic. People don't want to see him die. Is that it? I really like Dominic and also don't want to see him die. I would love to see Dominic with his own story, just not with Maria. (like Amo. We all know Amo would get his own book.)

On the contrary, the passion between Maria and Kayne was as raw and intense as ever. Loved every moment. Every single bit of it. Her dance with Kayne at Homecoming wasn't the same as she had danced with Dominic.

"With Kayne, they danced like two kids in love, just like the rest of the kids in the gymnasium were dancing."

her first kiss <3

"When lips touched hers for the first time in her life, she was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't that she didn't expect him to kiss her, because she knew what was coming the second he closed that door behind them. It was how he did it—the softness with how he carefully captured them and just how tenderly he kept them that had her taken aback.
It was fucking everything a girl would dream of how to be kissed for the first time, and not even a perfect Maria could believe she was living it. The only thing that ruined it was when he stopped."

Her first date. It was perfect.

"Maria was the one to lead Kayne, taking him to her favorite part of the just-budding gardens. Every time the wind even slightly stirred, snow-like cherry blossoms rained down upon them."

It's everything I have been waiting for until I reached the last chapter. I've read books where the hero died and I bawled like a baby. But It's the first time that I've waited and waited for a book forever and he died at the end...It was so painful, heartbreaking. I cried and cried. I felt betrayed and I couldn't sleep after finishing the book. Why couldn't they have a future like a normal couple? Why would she settle for the other guy because the one she's meant to be with is dead? why!why!why! I don't want to know if Kayne was THE bad guy. I don't want to know and I don't care. I'm not reading the next book. I am done with this series. I would be extremely careful in future picking up any book of this author.

Who is this Maria? Where did the Maria from previous books go? Sarah please write your books like you used to. I would rather wait over a year for a great book than to read something that feels fragmented. Chapters are so short with so little detail that they feel incomplete. I still don’t understand how Kayne nor Maria claim to love one another when their scenes are short and only a few things are said between them. I hate to say this because I love Sarah’s writing from Nero to Lucca, but the writing now feels immature and unrealistic. What changed in your writing after Lucca?

It was too rush

I rated a 2 star because it was too rushed and there is not enough content with Maria's relationship between Kayne and especially with Dominic. Also we do get a recap once again from her first meetimg with Kayne amd Dominic. We all already know when she first meets both of them. The other thing is Dominic rarely had any time with Maria and fir that matter in the book and towards the end all of a sudden he is expressing feelings he has for her. It does not make sense since they only spoken less than a few times. I would say I liked we got to read how Lucca and Chloe are doing and I am glad Dominic is the next book. I did wanted him to end up with Maria. I'm just curious how it will be written since again Dominic was a barely there in this book and Maria was only focus on Kayne. At least with the other books you can see how each of the guys and girls got together how they feel in love. Sorry if some fans dont like this post but I am being honest with my review and I am a huge fan of the series. We waited so long for this book and I did not expect this book to lack. No bueno. Now we have to wait to read Dominic.

I will be honest here - this book just didn’t do for me! Maria was one of my favourite characters in Sarah Brianne’s Made Men series. So so disappointed in this one! To think that the author took nine months to publish this book!! Gah! I felt like the author was just talking rather than write the book, hmmm how do I put it? The narrative was certainly lacking and the character development was pretty sad. Not one of Sarah’s best book, all the more sad because this was one of the most anticipated books. I guess this is what happens when the expectations are high 😭.

I'm putting this on hold @ 73%. I'm not sure I like the Maria we've got here. The something that made her awesome is just not present. Maybe its because the Maria in previous books was this hard assed psycho who had no problem torturing anyone but here we get a mushy Maria who can't make up her mind. Also, I found that the fact that everyone though Maria was gay because she never expressed interest in any guys off-putting. She didn't come off as the type of girl who would follow the rules when it came to men yet here she is the virgin in white. It was frustrating to say the least....

Finally, for those who just can't figure out who will be left standing....really, think about it for a moment. She's a mafia princess - do you really think she'll end up with anyone who's not part of her world??!!
I do see a twist coming in book two though as Kayne has some secrets and he comes off as "too innocent" and "too good"......

So I was...eager for this book to be released, because it's fucking Maria.
But hell, a fucking love triangle...again?
Just...why couldn't we have had Dominic and be done with it? He's the only one we know & like anyway.
Whatever. I give up.

The day finally arrived for me to read it and to say I was slightly disappointed today...would be totally correct.
description

It felt too much like Chloe's book as in:
1. too fucking short.
Hell, it's got even less pages than Chloe did! So yes, while reading it, it felt going by too fast.
Like, where's the story? The plot? The actually fully fleshed out writing? Getting to know the characters?
Again - a freaking novella instead of a full book! Sigh, why does Sarah does this to the female titled books? I'm starting to see a trend here and I. do. not. like. it.

2. the freaking two men.
And here "Maria" takes the winner over "Chloe" aka it's even worse, because at least there we knew the two men, scratch that, Amo is a damn boy Lucca and Amo from previous books, but here?
Well, Dominic was interesting from what little we saw of him...in previous books BUT we saw practically nothing of him here! And what we did was out of the blue! The reasons of it should've been in this very damn book novella! But knowing Sarah now as we do...yeah, spoiler spoiler won't say but "Chloe" almost on repeat it is in this aspect.
Kayne? Kayne who? Know nothing about him in previous books AND the same goes for this one - so couldn't care less. And at first I though we'd get to see something of him here, you know, get to know the character...nope. Didn't get to know his character any better at all, barely and what I did see I did not like, sooOOOOooooOOoo...cue even bigger disappointment.

description

Basically, this book is AGAIN a fucking prequel novella for the NEXT book. Just like "Chloe" was.
Why can't Sarah just make it ONE book? I can wait the extra months if that's what it is to get a proper book instead of this prologue presented as a book and then the book itself.

"Maria" was really ALL about Maria (and now I gotta say, thanx for the "book" being so short) and somehow this Maria...wasn't as fun? and we got practically nothing from the characters of the two love interests. If you can even call them that.
Just...what did I even read this for?

I'll say - if you can read the book prologue novella somewhere for free, a friend, whatever - do so. It wasn't that expensive at all, but I feel cheated. Don't want you to get suckered in as well.

Next book, huh? Well, now we know what that'll be titled as. And at least that one promises to be good and actually deliver...as it did with "Lucca".

And here I was feeling positive about "Maria" before its release thinking it won't be a clusterfuck...it was. Fuck it.

P.S. normally I'd avoid using fucks in my reviews, even with books like Made Men, but you know what? It was such a disappointment....that fuck it all.

Maria (Made Men Book 7)

Can I say I'm hurt 😢

I now read it a second time with common sense,
this story was already known to me how it would end
Which was a mistake waiting for a moment of excitement

There's nothing to do with the author's writing style it's brilliant
But this book did not live up to my expectations
I was expecting something similar to the Lucca book
All the time the action is going on as I'm used to this series but that wasn't enough for me
First of all, I hate love triangles because somebody always gets hurt😢
This book somehow went too fast until I was done with the book
There were also very lovely scenes in the book and I'm not just talking about hot scenes
I really enjoyed the friendship between Leo and Maria
Talking about Leo, this character is my new favorite cute funny innocent boy

“You’ve never liked anyone before! We all thought you were probably a lesbian!”

The boys Kayne and Dominic

I liked Kayne from the beginning I liked how he helped Elle and Chloe at school
They had good chemistry with Maria but there's something about the guy that bothered me
I hope to get an answer in book eight?

Dominic, I've never liked this character he seems arrogant he is a copy of his father
His brother Angel, I adore this character
And now when it comes to their relationship with Maria,
there just isn't that attraction spark chemistry whatever you do call it
And overall, I'm disappointed

I really liked that she added Nero and Lucca to the book as well as the girls Elle and Chloe

But that end of the book made me ask questions 😢

My favorite guys in the book Nero Lucca Angel and little Leo💕

What happens next I look forward to read the eighth book to get answers only
But not to read some kind of love story
I hope she will add more Nero Lucca and little Leo to the book and that this book would be a bit longer

Thank you!

Okay... so I'm not a fan of these shorter "books" that will just hang you off the cliff until the next short "book" finishes you off. Two novellas do not equal one solid book. It could have been one full book... we all know it. It appears as a money-grab and is a turn off.

description

As far as Maria goes, many readers have expressed their dislike in this new, softer Maria. I don't have a problem with the side of Maria we are getting right now. I love her cold-hearted, mafia princess side... but this was nice to see her actually evolving as a character. I have a feeling the next book will bring out her old ways more considering all that is going on towards the end of this story and I will enjoy seeing that come back.

description

What I didn't enjoy was another love triangle. Good grief... why?? Was it really necessary?? Did we really need to have this scenario again? I think not.

Will I read the next book? Well, duh... it's Dominc's book and of course I'm going to read it.

Was so sad at just how short this book was.
I think it should of been stated as a novella (book 6.5) in the series.
It felt so rushed and i just didnt see no relationship build up with either Kayne or Dominic.
There was none of the ballsy, takes no sh*t, Maria, that was shown in the other books in the series and overall it just all fell flat for me.

I was happy who survived at the end, though!

Disappointed.....
Like seriously, I gave 2 stars because I like the author but seriously that's me being over the top generous.

MARIA
Maria who was supposed to be badass turned lameass in the book. All through the book she went on and on how she didn't want to disappoint anyone. She didn't have a backbone, and had the guts to say that she deserves to have power. Well hell then show us what you got babe... and if you could do it without whining that would be great!!!
Throughout the series was supper cool and she had all femme fatale vibe going on which all went into shit... I mean did she not even have her own money????!!!! She is taking money from younger brother though its only donation and that also from his side stilllllll.. Next her dad then Lucca.

It felt like she is living is a prison made of gold and till now what we saw was all bark no bite. Like a plastic doll good for nothing. She has no hobbies or work or talent.... I mean show some of her personality. Don't depend on previous books to depict all her good sides.... All I read her do was dress up and go somewhere....

DOMINIC
Dominic for whom I was rooting for turned into arrogant asshole.....
All the made men were arrogant and asshole but they were atleast charming.
But this guy was shit. I don't even know why would she even like him.
I would give him -10 points
In last book I wanted him to be with her not that eng teach... But uhhh his character was snobbish and misogynist without any charm and any of that sweetness that other characters showed towards their women in previous books of this series..

KAYNE
His character was good. But I felt like all he did was wait for Maria to make all the first moves (except the date I guess)....
I loved when he says that he loved her.... But I felt something was missing in that scene.

LUCCA
Oh how much I have loved him throughout the series.... BUT!!!!! In this book his character was just plain horrible and underdeveloped... His relationship with Mari, his only sister was very bad..... It felt like it was worse than his relationship with Dominic!!!!!! Which I am sure is not true at all but if you forget about previous books thats how it felt like!!!!

I know that its a series so that means characters are to be continued as third point of view... But stilllll would it kill him to be little appreciative towards his only sister... to show some love towards her. All I saw was him being evil, dominant and unkind towards her.

ROMANCE
This was like worse.... There was no built in their relationship neither Dominic and Maria nor Maria and Kayne. Like boom she fell in love with Kayne... She didn't even know him... They have hardly exchanged two words with each other and she is in love with him. With Dominic all she did was dance with him and suddenly he is behaving like a possessive asshole, who feels wronged just because she choose a better man. I mean sure Kayne has a dark past and I am pretty sure, that past and the last accident has some connection.... But whatever he is still better.

Sarah Brianne I know you probably won't be reading this but still... I hope the next book is more much much much more than this was.
Also hopefully Maria shows her badassness in the next book.

I’ve never written a review when I dislike a book
As it always seems pointless so was this book.
It felt rushed and the storyline there wasn’t much,

I’d have preferred skipping this book completely and having the next one be a stand alone instead of two parts because nothing happened in the book.

We haven’t learnt much. Who’s one shot - dunno-
Anything more about Sal nope - I knew who the next book was going to be about before Maria was released.

I’m glad it was on kindle unlimited, if I had paid for it I would be done with this series as it was a waste.

I’m truly saddened that I didn’t like this book as this always been an amazing series. If the next book isn’t on KU I won’t bother

Also!!! This books was only 169 pages and how many were wasted on her sex dreams.

Oh Maria, Maria-you make me crave your story. I want to know more. I NEED more like right now. I knew it was ending in a cliffhanger yet I was still not prepared for it. It's like Chloe's book all over again yet worse because I didn't wait until the next book came out to read it. Ahhhh, just thinking about the wait is already killing me!!!

Maria is a badass mafia princess-although she doesn't like to be called that-who doesn't form any attachments to men or feel anything towards them but surprisingly two men seem to have made her cold black heart want to beat again. But Maria cannot afford to fall in love because he fate has already been decided for her so she rebels in her own ways. The two men who make her stutter are Dominic, the new king of the Luciano's, and Kayne, an english teacher. She is caught in her feelings for both of these men but only one can be her first. Her first of everything. And both are forbidden.

I have been looking forward to Maria's book from the very first book and I was so glad that our crazy beauty in Louboutin was getting not one but two books! Like can it get any better than that. What I enjoyed about this book was that we got to see the progression of the relationships and this book only focused on Maria. I always wanted to peek inside her head and we finally got to. I was always rooting for one guy from the very first time they introduced him and that guy is Dominic. I found him perfect for Maria. When you know, you know. Just how I knew with Lucca. I just hope Maria feels the same too.

OK. So where should I start?

Im biased. I love this series with a passion and everything this author writes is everything 🖤👏🏻

First, Sarah warned us that this book was going to be short like Chloe’s and the next one will have more like Lucca’s did. So I don’t mind that.

I truly enjoyed being inside Maria’s psycho brain and it was a wild ride. She was not only drop dead gorgeous but she was incredibly cunning and funny as hell too. Maria is basically my spirit animal. I don’t want to spoiled anything because you guys need to experience the book for yourselves, it’s a crazy ride.

Kayne? I’m mad at myself for saying this but I kind of like the dude. Sarah had me all confused with my damn feelings for him lol

Dominic... my man Dom. So hot and mysterious.

LUCCA & Chloe? 🖤 can’t never get enough, still one of the best characters ever.

I read this book in less than two hours 👏🏻 it was that good and it have me wanting more by the end of it.

I honestly can’t wait for book 8! 🖤

I have a feeling that Maria is going to snap 👏🏻

Well done Sarah B 👑

The 3 Star Are not for the story but the presentation.
I love this series but it should have been a novella, or a 7.5 book and Dominic 8 I had to check if I was really at 80% so quickly.
It was unfair, not even a cliff hanger.
But had the above been stated.

Stupid Cliffhanger

I have been waiting for Maria Caruso's story from the time she stepped into the room wearing nude Loubotin pumps to deal with Elle's bully. And now, I get a lame love triangle and worse a weak cliff hanger? Seriously. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime reading.

Eh it was not great

This was not one of my favorite. It was a really slow build up. Just when the book was getting good it was over. I hate cliffhangers and this was one.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!

Okay, let me start off by saying I fell IN LOVE with Nero, Vincent, Lucca, Angle, and Drago in their books. I was so excited to read Maria's story but as I was reading it I was searching for a connection with Kanye and I couldn't find it. Kanye was simply not the guy for Maria. We see throughout the other books about how Maria is strongwilled and does not fall for anyone easily, but then we come across Kanye a simple English teacher who she immediately feels a connection too. Yeah, I'm not buying that. Maria is such a complex character's a key part of who her soulmate should be is someone with the same amount of complexity and layers. In the very few scenes that we see her interact with Dominic, I can see how Dominic sees past this facade that she puts up. Throughout the book, I was hoping for more pages on Maria and Dominic. That all being said I am extremely excited for Dominic's book and hopeful to see more of Maria and Dominic. I loved seeing how Lucca and Nero's relationships are doing and the progress Chloe has made!

Loved this quick read into the mind of Maria. I have been intrigued by her since the first Made Men book Nero. She is strong and loyal to her family and believes she is heartless. This is proved wrong when meeting two different men - Dominic and Kanye.
One is tied to her mafia family while the other is “normal”. Or So so we think. Will she get to choose?
I loved the interactions with her family. Especially those with Lucca -who she is one of the few that can go toe to toe with the boogie man. And the scenes with her younger brother showed a softer side to Maria.
That cliffhanger has me needing more of the Made Men saga now!
