Rosemary Laurey is back with another wickedly delicious tale of love, lust, and the otherworldly with a new, and decidedly sexy, twist. . . Some Guys Are Real Animals. . .
Antonia Stonewright isn't about to change her views on love. A sexy mortal companion is fine every now and then, but a soul mate? A partner for life? Please. She was burned once, and hundreds of years haven't healed the wounds. But reclusive potter Michael Langton is. . .different. His gorgeous wares are perfect for her new art gallery--and his gorgeous body is perfect for her. She can't get enough of his toned muscles or his amazing, dark eyes. Their nights together make them both purr with pleasure--except in Michael's case, purring comes naturally. So much for finding a regular boyfriend. Antonia has a truly sexy beast on her hands. . .
"Great stuff!" --"Romantic Times" on "Kiss Me Forever/Love Me Forever "
USA Today Best-selling author Rosemary Laurey is an ex-pat Brit, retired special education teacher and grandmother who now lives in Ohio and has a wonderful time writing and letting her imagination run riot. Her hobbies are vacuuming, dusting and cleaning toilets but regrettably the demands of her writing career leave little time to engage in these pursuits.
I've read a lot of trash books this year, but this one was also just bad. The plot was poorly paced, the language attempted to be classy but was just clunky, and I didn't care about a single character. I'm glad I only paid 10 cents for this.
This book was alright. I liked learning more about Antonia and Michael but the plot just seemed forced. The events didn’t play out very smoothly and were just unnatural. Also, Antonia and Michael did the deed after knowing eachother for a day… a bit rushed y’all. Love the characters, not a fan of the forced plot.
I love vampire romances and Rosemary Laurey spins a great tale. I really great page turner couldn't put it down can't wait for the next one to come out. I romances scenes were fantastic i could picture exactly what was being done. fantastic book.
Yikes. The writing style really turned me off. It felt simplistic. There was also a nasty habit of saying one opinion in a sentence, and the next sentence was the opposite opinion.
This book is about Antonia Stonewright is a tough Druid Priestess Vampire. She is very old and is a no nonsense Vamp. I think over the century's of Antonis she has lost a little of her humanity. She had a very bad experience with a lover from the past that left her Jaded on love.
In this book Antonia is about to change her view on love. A very sexy mortal companion is fine every now and then, but a soul mate or a partner for life is not in her cards or future. This is how shes been thinking for many years. Let's say for over hundreds of years. Even with this much time after the bad breakup she hasn't gotten over it.
Antonia meets this handsome reclusive potter name Michael Langton. There is something about him thats different and Antonia can't quite put her finger on it. His pottery and wares are perfect for her new art gallery, and his body is just perfect for her.
Michael Langton has a secret his own. He finds this hot women in Antonia and can see she's not what she appears to be. The two of them discovering each other is a fun story along with the other zany escapades that goes on with Stella and Angela. This is a fun read and I just dont know why people have a problem with this series.
The team are back in Bringham, England. Antonia has bought the mansion from Dixie intending to turn it into a local crafts center. Elizabeth, and later Stella with Sam, join her to help set up their website, find craftsmen and restore the house and gardens. Then chaos breaks loose.
Lots of action. Carjacking, stolen jewels, a dead body, shootings, kidnapping and more. But positive things also: two engagements, new found friends, crimes solved and lots of light-hearted humor.
Antonio and Michael, who are the main love story for this book, have alot of fun learning each other's secrets, emotionally, physically and historically while assisting in the action around them, but they still have lots of time for hot sex.
Stella and Justin find out they have an amazing son. They are stunned by Sam's ability to handle the dangerous events that happen to and around him, even offering adult level advice and solutions.
I love the way the vampires use their abilities to control and solve the crises that won't stop. Good thing thing they don't need to breathe.
Even James discovers a mystery from him past and finds a girlfriend.
Favorite scene: Stella rescuing Sam from the carjacker.
At one point the characters compare their circumstances to an Agatha Christie novel. It's not nearly that good.
In one chapter I counted 4 instances of "I see." followed by the author explaining why the character did/did not see. Here are some examples lest you think I exaggerate:
"I see." He hoped not.
"I see." It was a lie-he didn't see.
"I see." She bet he didn't really....
Bingo! "I see." He wasn't sure he did...
"I see." Quite Possibly.
"I see." Only too well.
"I see." She doubted he did, really.
And finally one where she didn't have to explain it. "I see." Warrington glanced at his notes.
These are all between pages 193 and 217.
Other than the Vamps being kinda wussy, I'd like to like these books but it's just soooo hard. They're okay, and I'll finish out the series. Considering it has a completely different type of title I'm hoping some of these issues will be resolved.
This has to be my favorite of the series. First and foremost because in my last review I mentioned that the only thing missing was a werewolf and she come out with a shapeshifter! Not exactly the same but close enough! Also I adore Sam. Cute human child with vampire parents, getting caught up in the drama of the mythological creatures of the world and he holds his own. Honestly he is reason enough to read this book. But I guessss Antonia and Michael's story is an alright reason to read it. I love that these hopeless vampires who have vowed never to love again end up finding someone who peaks their interest ;) very good read!
I actually couldn't finish the book. I found it incredibly annoying that the characters seemed to be too blinded by lust for each other to pay attention to simple logic, and I couldn't decide whether the fault was with the character or with the author. Either way, it just didn't work for me.
