I’m stuck in the middle when it comes to this series. I thoroughly enjoyed book 2, I just couldn’t stop turning the pages! But book 1 and 3 which are combined in this edition just didn’t tickle my fancy. I thought the characters were lacklustre and they gave me nothing to relate to. And I found myself being so bored with the story that my mind would wander and I’d have to reread pages because I just didn’t care enough to pay attention.

Dark Jewels is three books in one; all take place in Wales, have strong alpha heroes, sassy strong women for their mates, villains and lots of action helped by Magic.

Books:
Dark Ruby is a fast paced romance set in Wales starting in 1271 when the thief is caught by the lady and they make a bargain that is kept for thirteen years. The action is fast, the villain's evil and the thief and the lady find romance with the help of a little magic. Dark Ruby is exciting and I can't wait to read the next book in the Dark Jewels Series. I borrowed this book from the local library.

Dark Sapphire set in Wales starts with two men making wagers, just as they did twenty years earlier for the love of a woman. Keegan is the son of the sea captain that cheats and is caught and dies. Keegan is helped to escape by Sheena, the daughter of the Lord of the castle. This starts their adventure, romance and fight against evil with a little help from magic.

I am a big fan of historical fiction and although some of the details were not true to the time period the stories moved quickly and were exciting with lots of danger and near escapes.

OMG! Absolutely fantastic read. Really enjoyed the second of this two part story with Keegan and Sheena. Their mad dashes to escape the clutches of the dark knight who pursued them on the command of Sheena's scheming and adulterous stepmother. What a good read.

Good Trilogy, and not the usual Lisa Jackson. Nice break. The stories are pretty predictable, but there are twists and turns that can surprise you!

I have finished the first half. I wrongly assumed it was all one story. Not the normal Lisa Jackson, but quite good! I need a break before I try the second half though.
