Where do the disappeared things go? When sisters Maya and Bree stop to watch a travelling show on their way home from their grandparents house one snowy night just before Christmas, little do they know how an encounter with real magic is about to change their lives forever. Maya in particular will need to pit all her wits against a dark force that aims to threaten the sisters’ future. A blend of modern fairytale and strange fantasy, Disappeared will haunt the reader even after they have turned the last page.

All Maya wants is to catch the bus to go home to their parents but her young sister, Bree, is too keen to see the carnival. They witness a magic trick but the simple detour turns dark and eerie quickly as the performance is not a tin-pot magic show as Maya had stated. Dewey takes control of the surrounding world and Maya learns the extent of the relationship she has with her sister. It’s a bizarre story.

Tim Jeffreys does it again with this book, it was so well written in what I was expecting. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and the story that was going on. It left me wanting to read more from the author and I'm glad I got to read this.
