Lipase Production from a locally Isolated Pseudomonas Sp

Rate this book
In this book, we screened lipase positive bacterial strains from soil samples from cultivation area of Jahman Badian road, in using a screening system (King B-medium plates) suitable for the detection of lipase producers. With highest intensity around its colonies. In order to identify this bacterium, some tests were performed. As a result, it was identified as a strain of Pseudomonas sp. In this study it was observed that coconut oil cake is used as the carbon source, olive oil as the substrate, peptone as the nitrogen source with pH 8 and the temperature 30°C are considered as the optimum conditions for the maximum lipase production. The final lipase activity using all optimum conditions was raised from 15 to 35 U/ml. The protein estimation and characterization of enzyme gave the maximum lipase units 291.7U/mg.
