Worst book in the Kirby light novel series by far. Much of the story goes nowhere or abruptly abandons potentially interesting ideas. Dedede's prior character development is trashed when he yells at and berates a waddle dee for being frightened of a ghost. The slumbercumbers were a completely inane plot device.

The most perplexing thing is the subplot where Captain Vul is randomly given an eating disorder and the other characters shame and mistreat him about it-- in KIRBY of all franchises!? The series where the main character's whole gimmick is eating everything in sight!? Bizarrely dated for a book that came out just a couple years ago, and completely out of line with the tone of Kirby as a whole.

All in all, a huge dud. Skip this one.
