The hepatic diseases are the major health problem worldwide. The diagnosis of hepatic diseases especially hepatitis is done by biochemical assessment of liver function. The levels of serum aminotransferases are significant aid to reflect different hepatic disease pattern. These serum aminotransferases are normally found in blood but when liver is diseased or damaged, ALT and AST are released into the bloodstream and their concentrations are directly related to the extent of tissue damage of the liver. .The current study revealed clinical significance of serum aminotransferase and serum bilirubin in hepatic patients and evaluated the changes in the levels of serum aminotransferases in hepatic patients.
