The trials to become "The Light of Hope" are driving a deeper wedge between the Deinya warrior Raven and Princess Kemorathane who is destined to become "The Light of Hope." The Rakon are now infiltrating the human courts to persuade the humans to join their side and cause. With the Deinya so few, how will they oppose both the people they've been called to protect as well as the Rakon? The new Deinya warrior Tara is appointed leader of the handful of Deinya and normal humans who are struggling to stand against the Rakon. She must come up with an answer to this new threat in order to buy Raven and Kemorathane the time they need to finish the trials--if they don't kill each other first.
