The Talk: A Biblical Conversation on Marriage and Sex
Sex is not a four-lettered word. Although the world and Hollywood have perverted it, sex was designed by God as a gift to be enjoyed within a marriage between a man and a woman. All too often, believers have remained silent concerning the topic of sex in their community, church, and homes. They avoid “the talk.”
The topic of sex is so important to God, that there is a whole book of the Bible that discusses the value and importance of it within the beauty of marriage. Preachers have explained the Song of Solomon as a picture of God's love for Israel or as Christ's love for His Bride, the church. Although these are true concepts throughout Scripture, the Song of Solomon is a love story between a man and a woman.
The Talk is divided into four key sections:
God’s Design in Marriage
Sex: The Word vs. the World
Dangers: Little Foxes
Delights
Each section addresses sex openly and respectfully. There are principles discussed that will benefit both the single individual and the married couple.
The Talk consists of four study guides for personal or group discussion and twenty-four devotions for daily instruction. The Talk is based on the Song of Solomon. The goal of this book is that we constantly and consistently look to Scripture for guidance in all areas of life including sex.
