About the author

Sujatha was the allonym of the Tamil author S. Rangarajan, Author of over 100 novels, 250 short stories, ten books on science, ten stage plays, and a slim volume of poems. He was one of the most popular authors in Tamil literature, and a regular contributor to topical columns in Tamil periodicals such as Ananda Vikatan, Kumudam and Kalki. He had a wide readership, and served for a brief period as the editor of Kumudam, and has also written screenplays and dialogues for several Tamil movies.

As an engineer, he supervised the design and production of the electronic voting machine (EVM) during his tenure at Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a machine which is currently used in elections throughout India. As an author he inspired many authors, including Balakumaran, Madhan.

சுஜாதாவின் ஐந்து குறுநாவல்களின் தொகுப்பு.2012 இல் ஒருமுறை வாசித்த இந்நூலை இன்று மீண்டும் ஒருமுறை வாசித்தேன்.இந்நூலில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ள ஒரு விபத்தின் அனாடமி ஒரு கிளாசிக் குறுநாவல்.மற்றைய நான்கில் ஹொனலுலு மட்டும் சுமார் ரகம்.ஏனைய மூன்றும் வெவ்வேறு விதங்களில் என்னை கவர்ந்தன. வாசித்து முடிக்க இரண்டு மணி நேரம் போதும்.நேரமிருக்கும் போது ஒரு தடவை வாசித்துப் பார்க்கலாம்.

Pathi Rajyam (பாதி ராஜ்யம்) is a collection of five longish short stories (or shortish novellas). Of the three page turning thrillers, two of them feature an early version of lawyer Ganesh, sans Vasanth. One of them, Palam (பாலம்) is a controversial psychological thriller. And the final one is a sociological drama. The title, Pathi Rajyam, seems a shoddily made up one, but collection of stories is a fine piece of early work by Sujatha.

one very early ganesh vasanth stories. actually its just ganesh, vasanth hasn't joined with him yet. this book will be a great place to start ganesh vasanth series.

A quick read. Real QUICK! About 30 Pages. For the length and its crispness it deserves 4 stars. I really liked it. It might have been written in 70s, but Sujatha's writing made it to be appealing even for a reader born in the 90s and reading it in 2015. Thats Sujatha's speciality I should say.
