This book flashes back to when Blade and his two warriors are teenagers. This could have been a little different from the other books, but it doesn't stray too far as when all three are adults. Geronimo and Hickock argue and put each other down throughout. Just like when they are grown. It really tires fast.
The one real difference is that our brave leader, Blade, is somewhat of a coward at times. He grows into his macho blade slinging self. There are some good things like the castle the three come upon. The ferries and the inhabitants of the castle are nice. In the end, this series seems to need a kick. Not many books left.
