Three psychics in two countries with the same message can't be wrong, can they? Sophie Lancaster is about to find out.
Going off to college is stressful enough without throwing in the revelation that someone has been watching you your entire life. This is Sophie's reality when she is informed that her soul mate from a former lifetime is by her side. A practical skeptic when it comes to love, Sophie refuses to believe this could be true. However, as the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, she finds it is becoming impossible to deny.
It is not until Sophie meets her soul mate in a dream and recognizes him immediately that she surrenders to the truth. He is the boy she has been sketching her entire life, the one she calls Charming. Suddenly in the midst of her own fairytale, Sophie soon finds herself in an impossible love that she'd do anything to keep. But are the soul mates destined to live their life together only in dreams?
Susie Kaye Lopez lives in San Diego, Ca. with her husband, three children, two chihuahuas, and her fifteen year old cat. Susie's interests include reading, music, shopping, and a healthy obsession with all things "Twilight". "Charming" is her first novel.
I fell in love with this book!!! I wish I had my very own Charming now! I normally don't love paranormal romance, but this story does it perfectly. It was a wonderfully delicious quick read for me, and the ending is adorable! I really hope there is a sequel coming!Charming
i would have given this a higher rating....at least a four since i liked the concept of the story, reincarnation and finding your soulmate. however, the way it was written was too fast paced for my taste and the ending...WTF!!! reading it i say to myself i'll be giving it a four rating since i'm liking it however, the ending just spoiled it for me.
I loved everything about this book. I was on vacation when I found it and couldn't put it down. I have been divorced for a fews years and it gave me hope that my soulmate is out there somewhere. Sophie's life and fears were very real to me and I loved how I could relate to her. Now I want to know more about their life together. I hope I will see new book soon. This is a must read!!!!
Sophie was never interested in guys and she think that would change when she got in college. However, she never dreamed that her dream guy would show up in the strangest way possible. A psychic tells her that there is a spirit beside her, and much to Sophie’s shock, the spirit is the guy whose face keep haunting her since she was little. The guy whom Sophie always draws in her sketchbook. The guy who must be the reason why she had never attracted to other guys.
Then the strangest tale comes unfold. In Sophie’s past, she was a girl named Lily and the spirit beside her is her fiancé, Charlie. Sophie’s grandparents were her parents in the past, and Sophie’s best friend, Rylee, was Charlie’s little sister. Sophie starts meeting Charlie, or Charming as she calls him now, in her dreams. But do they have a happy ending ahead? There’s no guarantee that Charming will stay by Sophie’s side forever. Do they meet again in Sophie’s second lifetime, only to be torn apart for the second time?
Charming is a really cute story that will make you smile and giggle along the story. Charlie definitely earns his nickname, and he keeps saying sweet things that make you can’t help but wish for a guy like him. Sophie is a lovely character and I like it that she accepts all the recent things happening around her really well. I like the secondary characters in this book. There is a little plot about Rylee in the story when she finds her own soulmate, and it’s really cute. I find the whole storyline is fairly easy to predict.
I found this book unintentionally and finished it in really short time. I read too much books with twisted plots and conspiracy at that time so it feels nice to read something light, simple, and romantic. I think this book is perfect for Friday night when there have been too many things going on in life, and you need something light to cheer your day. Preferably with the company of a cup of hot chocolate.
Charming was a chore to judge. I almost seemed like the first and second half of this novel was from a different writer. In the first couple novels I was excited and ready to go. The mystery accompanying Sophie’s special friend was exciting and intriguing, but it soon seems to stall. Through out the middle, the story fell into a casual life for Sophie. While I think that this was an important addition to the story I just feel that the amount of time spent here could lose readers confidence in the story. Although, as I made it into the second half of the story my confidence was reassured when the story began accelerating through the remainder of the story. In the end I settled on a four star rating due to the powerful and lovable ending, but I was recommend this story with a warning to anticipate a slow middle. In the end Charming is worth the wait, but it will take a bit of endurance to overcome.
Awesome! How come everyone seems doesn't know about this book? Charming was an adorable love story. It's quite different from any other paranormal-romance novel. I fell in love with the cover, the story, and of course the character - Charming! The ending is pretty much predictable. But never mind, I couldn't put down this book and I hope more people enjoy reading Charming as much as I did.
My favorite quote from this book: “Lily, I have known you all my life, and I have watched you grow up from my sister’s annoying best friend who followed me around everywhere I went into the woman who I love with all my heart and all my soul. You are my best friend, my soul mate and the wife that I will love and cherish for the rest of my days. You are my every heart beat and the reason that I breathe. I love you. I love you forever. I love you beyond forever.”
It was supposed to be so good if the synopsis was any indication.
It all started innocently enough: Sophie was on a trip of a lifetime - can you believe it? - travelling around Europe! I was expecting colorful, right-on-the-dot illustrations of those far-off places that I would travel to one day. But nooooo... it just breezed through, finished the journey before you could say Arc de Triomphe de l'Étoile and just after Sophie encountered that psychic. I think the Europe bit was just an excuse to insert that psychic - just the one.
the story somewhat felt familiar but it still kept me interested enough to finish in one sitting. i thought lopez was delaying the meeting between ethan and sophie so that she can have her “big twist” (though the hints throughout the story just made it anti-climactic). i thought it would have been better to let the two meet one or two chapters earlier (and not on the last few pages) so we could have seen their interaction in their new bodies. oh and there was too much kissing for two teenagers, felt like that’s all they did whenever they met in a dream, they didn’t even talk much except for professing their forever love for each other. which was a bit cheesy but then they’ve waited for 150 years to be reunited so i guess that’s a reasonable excuse.

I am sadly not the once-consummate reader I was a few years ago, so the books I do read tend to be few and far between these days. I was very lucky that "Charming" certainly did not disappoint in the slightest. It's a great read that has the unique qualities of being a quick and easy read without being overly saccharine or pure fluff. I look forward to future reads from the author!
I highly recommend this adorable love story! I completely related to Sophie and found myself unable to put this one down! A must read for those who like their romances with a touch of the supernatural. :)
What a cute book! Great romance. I loved the characters, and the whole idea of finding your Soul mate! The ending was obvious, but I didn't care because that's the way I wanted it to be! Charming "Charmed" me for sure! Wish it was longer. Hope to hear more from this Author.
I'm a huge YA paranormal fan - currently all I'm reading - and I really loved this little story. It was a quick read for me on my kindle, but I really enjoyed it and recently reread! A cute, romantic, perfect paranormal romance! Two thumbs up from me!! :)
Absolutely loved this fantastic book!! The characters were well-developed and incredibly endearing. I couldn't put it down and sincerely hope a sequel follows!!
This book was my favorite summer read. It is fun, enchanting and easy to get hooked on! I encourage any reader at any age to read this book. You will not regret it!
