現教皇に死期が近づき、ローマでは次の教皇選を睨んだ戦いが始まっていた。チェーザレは、ロレンツォとピサ大司教との協調を画策。工場建設計画を立案し、ジョヴァンニを陰で動かすとともに、アンジェロを工事責任者につけ計画を進める。そんな中、チェーザレの働きによりラファエーレとジョヴァンニの会食が実現。両家の因縁は解消したかに見えたが、今度はピサに漂い始めた新たな陰謀の影が、チェーザレに近づいていた。

About the author

Fuyumi Soryo (惣領冬実) is a Japanese manga artist from Beppu, Oita, Japan. She is a graduate of the Oita prefectural Geijutsu Midorigaoka High School.

She was born into the home of a master of the Kanze school of Noh. In her childhood she liked to draw pictures of horses and things but had no special interest in manga. While enrolled in fashion college, she happened across Shogakukan's Rookie of the Year Contest and applied to raise money for the Sōen fashion contest. There she received an honorable mention, and debuted with "Sunspot Visitor" (Hidamari no hōmonsha) published in the April 1982 edition of Bessatsu Shōjo Comic (now Bestucomi).

Her works translated abroad include Mars and Eternal Sabbath. In 1988, she was awarded the Shogakukan Manga Award for shōjo manga for Boyfriend. Currently her last manga series is Cesare which centers around the infamous Borgia family of the Italian Renaissance and Cesare Borgia himself.

Šiame tome pasirodo Lukrecija, Farnese, Chuanas. Pagrindine tema tampa kas padegė Džiovanio ir Čezarės statomą fabriką. Taip pat Čezarė persirengia paprasto žmogaus rūbais ir su Angelo išeina į festivalį, kur į save sugeba atkreipti dėmesį savo išsišokėlišku elgesiu.

Vieną istorinę klaidą autorė visgi padarė: Gandijos kunigaikščiu tapo Chuanas, o ne kažkoks Pedras Luisas... Istorija apie tokį niekur nekalba. Vis toliau einant puslapiais Čezarė ima rodyti savo charakterį ir užsispyrimą. Jis visada pasiekia to ko trokšta bei drąsiai lenda į pavojus ir niekada neapsikvailina.

Read in Italian. I seem to be missing volume 3 (and volume 1, for that matter), as it appears to be put of print. Nevertheless, I carry on. For missing the previous volume, it was very successful at catching me up to what was going on. This volume has both Lucrezia and sweet young Niccolò Machiavelli, which is a delight. In general, this volume feels more like it's laying the foundation for later than doing anything particularly special in and of itself, though Cesare trying to pretend to be a commoner (and failing utterly at being diplomatic about it) is very fun.

Le début de ce tome commence avec la sœur de Cesare : Lucrezia Borgia. Elle est promise en mariage à seulement 11 ans. Tout le monde demande à Angelo de faire attention à l'attention qu'il porte à Cesare car celui-ci ne serait pas sincère. J'ai aimé découvrir la nouvelle facette d'Angelo : son innocence et sa vulnérabilité même si parfois il est un peu agaçant.

Ce tome s’ouvre sur Lucrezia Borgia, un ange qui rêve d’un peu plus de liberté. Elle est la sœur préférée de Cesare. Elle est promise en mariage et sa belle-mère la prépare à son rôle de femme.

Le meilleur de la saga. On commence à cerner le personnage de Cesare qui est un subtil mélange de morale grise. De plus l'introduction du personnage de sa soeur Lucrezia donne de la profondeur à l'intrigue...

Des plus intéressants de par son contenu historique, très bien écrit et superbement illustré, je dirais -- si cela était possible -- que ce manga est encore meilleur que les volumes précédents. L'intrigue se ressert et les illustrations me semblent encore plus belles. Fuyumi Soryo était déjà, avant Cesare, une mangaka d'expérience (Mars, ES: Eternal Sabbath), mais il semble qu'elle trouve le moyen d'améliorer encore sa technique: les expressions faciales des personnages me semblent un peu plus variées qu'avant et les arrières-plans architecturaux sont plus détaillés et riches. Magnifique! Je ne peux pas recommander ce manga plus chaudement!

Les dessins des protagonistes sont très beaux. Cesare est présenté comment fort, aventurier, intelligent mais en même temps naïf et étranger de la vie commune des paysans. Un façon romantique de présenter l'histoire qui n'était pas si agréable. Les petits textes à la fin donnent une description très globale de la situation de l'époque. C'est très bien que l'auteur inclus une bibliographie pour approfondir le sujet et aussi quelques pages de lexique.

Por fin puedo ver los verdaderos colores de Cesare, y es bastante impactante. Me gusta cómo transcurre la historia, desde el pequeño crush de Lucrezia hasta la aventura de Cesare en el festival. Es cierto que Cesare actúa según su conveniencia, algo que me parece muy normalizado en los seres humanos, así que no puedo atribuirle maldad como hace el ingenuo de Angelo, que ya habría muerto cinco veces de no ser por Cesare.

Karakter Cesare Borgia di manga ini jauh lebih menarik daripada Cesare di seri Cantarella atau The Madonna of A Flower Crown. Di dua manga terakhir yang ditonjolkan hanya kekejaman dan ambisi politik Cesare, tapi di sini kita jadi tahu bahwa Cesare berpengetahuan amat luas. Salahkah kalau Machiavelli mengaguminya dan menjadikannya contoh penguasa dalam bukunya Il Prince?
