About the author

Niki Behrikis Shanahan was born and brought up in Massachusetts. She currently resides there with her husband, Jack, and her two cats, Luke and Joey.

It wasn’t until she was 35 years old that she adopted her first pet, Pete, the cat that was the inspiration for the book “There Is Eternal Life For Animals.” Pete was 8 years old when the Shanahans adopted him from a neighbor and 21 years old when he passed away.

After Pete’s passing, Niki felt driven to find the answer to the question of what happens to animals after they die. She researched, studied, prayed, and soon a book began to develop from her findings. She did not initially plan to write a book, but rather to find the answer. Once she found the answer, she felt that she would like to share her findings with other people to give them hope and comfort during their time of sorrow.

When I lost my fur baby, in September of 20I7, I was beyond devastated. I felt like the world had collapsed all around me. I decided to read “The Rainbow Bridge: Pet Loss Is Heaven’s Gain.” I can say this comforted in ways that I could never imagine. Just to know that my fur baby Teenie has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is no longer suffering. The night she left I felt her foot steps on my bed and down her steps from the bed. I’ll cherish this moment until we meet again. This book helped me as I was grieving and continue to grieve. Until we meet again my lil princess Teenie🐶💖💋🐾🐾🐾🐾🌈🌈Mommy loves & misses you😢

Basically it is the author quoting the Bible and other people who have written books and interpreting it in her own way. Random pictures of people and their pets that aren’t even related to the content. Many areas where half of the page is blank. Most of the book did not even seem to pertain to pet loss. I was looking for some consolation but did not find it in this book.

Release of grief

My little, nearly 15 yrs old, Yorkie died and my grief has been relentless. I read this book and I am feeling relief and a release of a heart that has been broken. I also believe a part of me died the day she died.... now I know we will be together again in God's mansion . Thank you, Jesus!

This book is completely based on the Christian Bible. Despite the lack of religious diversity, there is a fascinating and impressive list of Scriptures about animals with careful and heartfelt analysis. The message is uplifting and supportive of anyone dealing with grief at the loss of a beloved animal.

This is definitely a book for Christians or those who are ready to commit themselves to Christ. It is a comfort for those who have had to say goodbye to a much loved pet.

It was a bit repetitive. I also object to some of the author's referencing different people's dreams as fact. An out of body experience is one thing. But what a person dreams is another.

My husband gave me this book after losing a cat; it was a particularly difficult loss--no closure until spring when we found him where he had been hit and trapped under the ice & snow. This book helped. It is religious in nature, written by a Christian, and it was very comforting.
