I will reiterate how NOT well-read I am in science fiction. From my experience, they all have similarities. They just differ on the scale of alien to the afterlife? The one being more about the existential questions of the afterlife & in between. Anyway, reading this book is like watching the little red space ship in Lilo & Stitch beep closer and closer to Earth only see to land on Hawaii, but switch the island for West Tennesse, aka cows & my homeland.
This read was pretty bizarre and actually very personal for me. My uncle wrote this book, and I never got to meet him. He wrote lots of his (my) own history into this crazy story. It made me think he would’ve really loved the movie Soul if he were here today.
