I really wanted to like this more because I liked the art and the melbourney-ness but I just found it pretty insubstantial. also my knowledge of all the settings made the hipster-ness painfully obvious.

Maybe I'm not hip enough but, although the drawings were very clever,I found the book a little annoying. Ord is pretentious in her literary knowledge and as a reader I felt she wanted to shove her cleverness down my throat, rather than to entertain me or leave me thinking.

this isn't really a review, more just a response to the other comments i guess. I actually found this super cute and charming and even a little scary, fractured (in a good way) in parts. Love that I could recognise places here.

There was no story line. I didn't get it.

It's a shame because the artwork was great.
