The Medusa Project team have arrived in Sydney for another exciting mission. Here, they come face-to-face with two more Medusa teens: Cal, a boy who can fly, and Amy, a girl who can shapeshift. But who is double-crossing whom?
Hey there! Welcome to my Goodreads page where you can keep up with all my stories - both the ones that are already published and the works in progress!!
I write mostly teen thrillers - plus some teen romance, books for younger children and four adult psychological thrillers.
I'm really excited right now because of...
Boy, Missing, my £1 book for World Book Day and Truth or Dare, my new teen thriller. (UK)
I thought this book was very predictable. I knew who Nico's father would be. Ketty at the end was pretty obvious as well. I didn't like the way Nico and Ketty's relationship was to each other. But the book was fast paced.
This was a good book but it was not one of my favourites I preferred the other books in this series but this was still a fun and action packed adventure.
this book is the 5th one in the series of the medusa project. there are four children who have the gene but we find out early on ed's sister Amy also has the genes. others also have the genes but they are not in England! in this book they explore different parts of the world they quickly go to France and spend most of the book in Australia. I really enjoyed this book and will read the next one.
The only thing I liked about this book was that it was from Nico’s point of view. That’s it. All the other characters except Nico seemed to make me annoyed, especially Ketty. The plot was extremely predictable as well. This book wasn’t terrible, so it doesn’t deserve a 1 star rating, but the maximum it deserves is maybe 3 stars. Nothing higher.
Kitty nick ed and Dylan all have psycic abilities because of the Medusa gene. In this novel they are trying to find evidence to put the person who killed their mums in prison. I found that the plot was quite guessable but there were a couple of good plot twists for example when nico found out that he and cal were related and avery was there real dad.

There was so much action and new truths in this book. Nico is one of my favourite narrator's of the series (despite how he calls Ketty 'babe' *cringe*) and he's definitely grown a lot since the first book. I also really love that the group have bonded and are a lot stronger now.
This book was the second to last one in the series. At first, it was really confusing as it was talking about IVF babies, but as the book went on I could not put it down it is definitely one of the best in the series.
This was a very fast paced story. I really like the way the plot twists are executed in the whole series. But after reading 4 books in a row. The story is stretched thin. Still, I'll feel sad when it's over. I came to love or hate those characters.
(LIBRARY BOOK) It was okay, I got bored towards the end and just skimmed through after page like 160 and still managed to get 10/10 on my reading test in school lmao.
THE MEDUSA PROJECT ARRIVE IN SYDNEY AND MEET CAL A BOY WHO CAN FLY AND ED'S SISTER AMY WHO CAN SHAPESHIFT AND NICO FINDS OUT THAT CAL IS HIS BROTHER! ANOTHER GOOD READ.
Considering this was a first time read, it was pretty good. Couple.kf good twists and turns that I wasn't expecting. Also finished in under 24 hours, so it's not a heavy book, which was nice.
I enjoyed every other book in this series, and I was glad I finally managed to read this :).
The book was very fast paced - within the first or second chapter things were happening. It was very exciting, with events happening very close to each other and with no boring bits at all. It was slightly unrealistic at times (minus the fact the characters had powers), but many books like this are.
It was narrated by Nico, one of the main characters. For some reason he annoyed me in this book, but not in the others so much - I don't know if the author intended that or if it's just me, though! I thought having the chapters from differant character's points of view, like in the last book, but it wasn't something I would have noticed if I hadn't read the last book before tis one. I like how in this series all the characters are very differant, making them more interesting to read about than a bunch of similar people.
At times this book was a little predictable, and I could almost guess what would happen at some parts. However, some bits of the book were quite unexpected! It ended on a litte bit of a cliffhanger - if I hadn't already read the last book I would be dying to read it!
I also liked the cover of this book (and others in the series) - the cover has an action packed feel to it, which suits the book.
I would reccomend this book to fans of books with some action. I did enjoy this book, but I thought some bits were a bit predictable but it wasn't boring at all and was an exciting read. If you're thinking of reading this, definately read the books before it in the series first - it might be a bit confusing otherwise.
This book was such a fast-paced, quick read that was action-packed. The book started quickly, and there were no slow parts in the book, and because of this it was a book that was very easy to read. Personally, I enjoyed the plot in this book more than the previous stories because I felt as though previous books have been building up to this book, because we have been able to find out more about the Medusa gene and the history behind the character’s stories, and I am definitely looking forward to the conclusion of this story in the final book. There are definitely lots of unexpected twists in this book, and it has been my favourite so far in this series.
My only issue with this book was the characters, normally I like Ketty but in this book I just thought that she was irritating and she just didn’t seem to make any attempt to understand how Nico was feeling. I also found Nico more annoying in this book, but for me this does fit with his character because I do find him to be the type of person that would annoy me, but he definitely redeems himself in the end of the book. Apart from this I enjoyed the new editions to the character, especially Amy and Cal, I felt these two characters helped the plot along and definitely added to the action. Cannot wait to read the final instalment in this series.
Sophie McKenzie's The Hunted #5 from the series called The Medusa project is a very sad, exciting, scary, and cliff hanging book. There are 7 important characters in this book which are Nico,Ketty,Ed,Dylan, McMurdo who is a man which has a secret film talking about how Dylan's father died, Avery who knows the Medusa gene formula and is Nico's real father and Cal avery's other son. So the team set off to Australia to get the evidence that Geri Killed Dylan's dad. They thought they were meeting Laura's friend but Avery met them and brought them in secret so they were scared but later on they understand and have faith. Avery knows the Medusa Gene formula so he puts it on every single child of his and he had 3 wives and has so much children. They went to McMurdo to find the evidence but McMurdo uses them to try and kill a man he owes money to but they escape. Geri and McMurdo track them down and they fight. Geri and McMurdo dies because of the team killing them and Nico posts the video on youtube because Geri was trying to take the video and destroy it. Avery gets shot in the fight. Can he survive? Will Nico live with his stepdad or his real dad if Avery doesn't die?
Again, we're told the story by the loved-up Nico, so of course it compliments Ketty all the time, and insults Dylan. So much drama for a small book. We discover Nico's dad, get attacked by a freaky scientist and Nico nearly kills Ketty (hurrah!). Yeah, drama. Also, we discover the thing about Ed's sister, Abby, and a friend of Ketty's that makes Nico jealous, and of course she doesn't realise Nico's jealous.
IT WAS WRITTEN ALL OVER HIS FACE.
Ketty=Dumb.
So the friend turns out to be... YAY! that was sarcasm.
You might have noticed I hate Ketty. That's because I think Nico should be with Dylan. Ed and Ketty have 'stay at the base' powers whilst Nico and Dylan have 'Attack and Defence' powers.
Well this was defiantly a improvement from the first 4 book in this series. I found myself wanting to continue reading this one, which was quote nice.
Double-Cross is from Nico's perspective this time, which at the start was quite annoy with his overuse of 'babe', but once he got over that and the action started it was enjoyable. Double-Cross was still written fairly simple and straight-forwards with most of the plot being predictable, bar a few exceptions.
Being set in Sydney, Australia for the majority of the book, it was a nice change to the other setting that they have been in. Also McKenzie added in some new character which gave this series some much needed refreshing and not knowing how the people think.
this is a fabulous book, can't wait to read the next and the last book " hit squad...!!!" and am sad that medusa is getting over pls write more ... well anyway about this book .. it introduces us to two new characters amy and cal whose identities are true suspense but i must say i HATE amy for doing so many things and saying nothing as and because of her stupidity things change in the group ......well favourite character is cal of course as he has a wonderful ability that i love that is to FLY..!!!
I HATE KETTY! She know that Nico loves her, and she still goes and flirts with this new guy. I get that the book is set for Nico's point of view, so maybe we're supposed to feel sorry for him. But I can't stand her! She has the guy of her dreams, and still goes and ruins it with this new, super ripped guy. I can't believe her!
This episode told from Nico's point of view was not as good as The Set-up, also told by Nico. I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous four, perhaps because everybody has already had their stories told?
Oh my gosh this is an amazing book, but what an ending!? If there hadn't been some evidence of a new book I think I may have lost my mind! It took me a while to read it but that was more to do with my own tiredness. Once I got really into it I could not put it down! Everyone should read this book!
So out of all the books in the series, I liked this one the least. I found the majority of it really difficult to read because of all Nico's thoughts. They made it really hard to relate to him and it took away from the plot.
I love this series! They are all action packed and this, the penultimate book, was no exception. We get to find out loads more about the Medusa Project's past, and about Nico! A very strong series written by one of my favourite authors.
I like this series of books, even though they become less convincing over time! Looking forward to reading the next one as I'm enjoying how the relationships are developing.
