Coming of Winter

Rate this book
Catherine Mae Blackston is missing. She is not the first. While investigating Blackston's recent activities, FBI Agent Jeremy Winter stumbles upon a string of missing persons within state parks. Unable to convince his boss that Blackston's disappearance is anything other than a lost hiker, Winter joins forces with a local police officer to continue the search.

As the clues mount, a dark figure from Jeremy's past emerges with an ultimatum - one that could force him out of the Bureau. Afraid that his girlfriend, fellow agent Maggie Keeley, will be dragged into a high-stakes political game, he delays his decision. But as the tally of missing persons increases, Winter closes in on the unlikeliest of suspects.

The bodies are out there.

He just has to find them before his past catches up with him.

Coming of Winter by Tom Threadgill is a masterclass in suspense and psychological thrillers. From the very first page, you're drawn into a chilling, atmospheric world where every shadow holds a secret and every character has a hidden agenda. Threadgill's writing is sharp and precise, creating a sense of unease that builds with every chapter. The protagonist is compelling and flawed, making her journey through the darkness all the more gripping.

The plot twists are expertly woven, keeping you guessing until the very end. What I loved most about this book is how it delves into the human psyche, exploring themes of trust, fear, and survival in a way that feels both real and terrifying. This was my first book by Tom Threadgill, and it certainly won’t be my last. If you’re a fan of thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat, Coming of Winter is an absolute must-read!

This was a very good read. Needed a break from my normal reads. But always enjoy a good crime thriller. Thought I would give theirs one a shot. I enjoyed the main character and looking forward to read the second book in the series.
