Privileged debutante Alex Kincaid is sent to her uncle’s ranch after receiving her third DUI in eighteen months. She doesn’t know the first thing about cooking, but when it comes to the Bar K’s sexy-as-sin cook, Brett, she’s willing to learn.Having served his six years as an inmate at the prison ranch, Brett Hartman can almost taste his freedom. When the warden’s niece arrives, his world is turned upside down. Alex argues with him at every turn and makes his already chaotic life a living hell. Fraternization will send him back to jail, away from the Bar K. So why is he willing to throw away everything he’s worked for to have one night with her in his bed?

As the child of a military member, Monica Robinson spent most of her life moving from state to state. Though some of the places she went to were beautiful, it didn’t help when making friends. With a vivid imagination, she began creating worlds that kept her entertained for hours. All grown up—and no longer moving around—Monica still loves to write, but instead of describing far away worlds, she likes meddling in the love lives of her characters.

She lives in the Puget Sound area of Washington with her husband and two children.

This is the story about a rich girl who gets her 3rd DUI. As punishment, her father sends her to her uncle's "ranch" which is actually a horse ranch for low-risk prisoners with a dpendency problem. Alex (rich girl) and Brett (one of the prisoners) cannot stand each other right off the bat. Brett, because Alex is spoiled and looks down her nose at them, and Alex because she cannot believe that he's not at her beckon call. Anyway, a long story short, they end up making love and shortly after, they fall in love.

I really wanted to like this sotry. Some parts were really good, but the repetitiveness of they admit their feelings followed by a set-back...then another problem, then another problem, then more roses and a pregnancy scare, etc. It got tiresome very quickly. It did have a happily-ever-after, but something was missing. For example, Hudson, one of the inmates, was missing for half the story to suddenly reappear in the end. Again, it was ok, but not great. I give it 2.5 stars.
