She's worked hard to distance herself from her father's legacy--but family ties are hard to break
When FBI Agent Daria Nevsky returns home to an intruder, she's not exactly surprised. She's been on high alert ever since her father, a powerful figure in Russian organized crime, was killed. She is surprised, however, when the man in a ski mask and hoodie tells her that her father sent him.
Dr. Ryker Donahue knows he's heard the name Daria Nevsky before. As he tends to the young woman's wounds, he tries to put the pieces together. No sooner does she show up at his hospital than it becomes painfully clear that whoever she is, she's in trouble. He feels a strong pull to protect her--but he quickly realizes that this is a woman who knows how to handle herself.
It will take both of them--and a handful of their skilled friends--to figure out who's after her, what they really want, and how to make it out alive.
Lynette Eason grew up in Greenville, SC. She graduated from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and then obtained her masters in education from Converse College. Author of twenty inspirational romantic suspense books, she is also a member of American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) and Romance Writers of America (RWA). In 1996, Lynette married "the boy next door" and now she and her husband and their two children make their home in Simpsonville, South Carolina."
I was excited to read this because of its connection to the Blue Justice series, but I didn't realize that Ryker ties into another series that I haven't read, so some of the backstory/connections left me a little lost. (Actually, I wondered at first if I'd somehow just forgotten that I was supposed to have met him before...) Once I got that straightened out, though, I really enjoyed the story! I love Daria, and I appreciated her skills, both in surviving and in other things. :) And I liked the way that Ryker was able to be protective while still recognizing that she was more skilled than he was in certain areas. I loved his determination to stick by her even if she didn't want to let him. And I loved her eventual realization that she needed to stop trying to handle things on her own and let in the people who cared for her--after the plot was comfortably established, of course. ;)
Lynette Eason’s On the Run was exactly the story Daria and Ryker deserved. Such a sweet romance for those two lovable characters from other stories. The suspense was great, especially because both Daria and Ryker had to use their specialized skills to escape the danger that chased them. I loved the adventure and twists that peppered this story. The characters were strong and interesting, and the plot was well thought out and delivered superbly. This novella once again proved why Lynette Eason is my favorite suspense author.
I enjoyed this one. It was great to see Daria, Allie, and Linc from the Blue Justice series again. The romance felt a bit rushed, but that’s understandable given it’s a novella. All in all, a good, fast-paced read.
Lots of chases and amazing tracking ability on the part of the bad guys. Ryker treats Daria for a stab wound after she has driven eight hours, which would be impossible for an ordinary person but she's FBI & the daughter of a criminal mastermind, so she's tough. After more chases, the thugs catch her and it's Ryker to the rescue once again. I can tell this just a sequel or "tween" novella, because there are many people in it that I don't know. It was only 100 pages, and I'm very disappointed in myself for buying without noticing that. I wonder if I pre-ordered it based on the author. I'll be more careful in the future. Not saying it was bad, it was just overpriced for the number of pages. Disappointing.
I found this novella to be a disappointment. It was my first book by this author and I had high hopes. I'll probably try something else by her because she seems to be pretty popular in the Christian fiction world, and hope the problems with this story were because it was a novella. In my experience, a really good novella is hard to pull off.
There were mentions and details about characters from other stories (full-length novels, I assume) that I felt were too intrusive to this story. Too much of their backstory was included in this novella. Consequently, there wasn't quite enough time devoted to character development of the two MCs of this story.
I also found the premise implausible, which was a huge disappointment.
Just wish it was longer! I would have loved a longer book.
This is about characters we have heard about but I don’t think we see a lot of them in her other series.
I loved how it was connected to the St. John’s. Allie and Linc from her “Blue Justice” series make an appearance. Heather and Travis from her “Danger Never Sleeps” series make a large appearance. Holy and Penny from “Life Flight” series show up.
I have no idea who Jess is but I feel like she is from another book.
I loved the connection with all her other series but it was very confusing.
The Main female character in this book is the teen that Allie protected in the Blue Justice series and it talks more about it.

Intense, a true Page Turner, will keep you reading till you’re done
A very enjoyable, quick read. It is so wonderful to read a book that is free of missing words, grammar errors, and just flows. The storyline is excellent. I always enjoy Lynette Eason, and look forward to more of her stories.
This is a clean, very entertaining romantic suspense book that is a quick and easy read with great characters, lots of action, and a happy ending. I really enjoyed this book.
I loved this book. Fast moving action, and never gets stuck with relational "will they/won't they" scenarios. Very believable romance wrapped up in a good guy, bad guy struggle. Lynette Eason never disappoints.
This is one of my favorite authors. If you like mystery, suspense and action just pick up one of her books. You will not be disappointed. This book has attempted kidnapping, car chases, attempted arson, kidnapping and so much more.
I love this book. It is packed full of action. Daria is a tough woman, but has a heart for others. She is thrown into Dr. Ryker's life, and she is being pressured by the Russian Mafia.
I finished reading Vow of Justice and was curious to read Darla's book. Unfortunately,I didnt enjoy it. I could feel no chemistry between the MCs. Ryker seemed a misfit for Darla. It made no sense for him to accompany her as he was more of a liability for her.
It was so great to see Ryker get a story! I remember him as a teen in Heather/Travis' book, so to see him all grown up - and a doctor! - it was so great. And to have Caden back, too?
