For as long as Arell Rivers remembers, she has been lost in a book. During her senior year in college, she picked up a romance novel … and instantly was hooked.

She started writing her first novel, No One to Hold, because the characters were screaming at her to do so. The story started coming out in Arell’s dreams and attacking her in the shower, so she took to the computer to shut them up. But they kept talking.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Arell has what some may call a “checkered past.” Prior to discovering her passion for writing romance, she practiced law, was a wedding and event planner and even dabbled in marketing. She lives with a very supportive husband and two mischievous cats. When not in her writing cave, Arell can be found making dinner in the crock pot, working out with Shaun T or hitting the beach.

She hopes you enjoy her stories about flawed men, strong women and the passions that ignite!

This was a good read with likeable & funny MCs and a sweet romance, but I found myself skimming a lot because Hero is not an Alpha (he took way too long to grovel IMO) and the Scottish dialogue – if indeed that is what it was – was annoying. When Hero was calling his Father “Dadaidh”, it was like I was hearing a baby saying “DaDa”! 🤦‍♀️😅😂🤣. I was also annoyed with the too many "Boyfriend/Girlfriend" references pertaining to MCs each time they introduce themselves to someone or in their POV's. For instance, Hero would say in his POV "My girlfriend will never talk to me again", "My girlfriend looks hot", etc.... Ditto for Quinn, heroine.

It’s a safe read. NO OM/OW drama but it ends in HFN and that was disappointing. Hero has been burned before by gold-diggers – one in particular before he met heroine whom his family & close friends told him to avoid but he was blinded by her until she made him purchase a “medium Prada Nappa-leather tote bag with topstitching” for her before he figured out he was her meal ticket so it made him hide the fact he came from money & somewhat “royalty” and this is the “angst” that makes them separate for a bit at the end because she told him all her family secrets but he did not until his father accidentally leaks to the press who her father was (aka he was a married billionaire with another family) and causes havoc to her life and that of both her families.

Quinn has been on the road filming a rockumentary with Untamed Coaster, or UC. They have been off their game since their friend and keyboardist died suddenly. Now she’s home and just wants to eat her Thai food and relax. Then all hell breaks loose when her neighbor starts blasting UC music. It’s so loud her sofa is actually vibrating. So she heads downstairs to tell the neighbors to lower the noise. After all, she’s been with that band for months and doesn’t want to hear it. Banging on that door getting angrier until the tall ginger hottie opened the door, wearing a towel and not much else. Callum opened the door expecting his pizza, not the beautiful, hot tempered, tiny package yelling at him. After she stomped off, he stepped outside the door to make sure the pizza guy wasn’t hiding. So this is how they met. Through the coming weeks they become friends and she tells him how his favorite band is struggling. She has no idea who he really is, he’s let her assume he’s some flunky. This story, their story is really good. I couldn’t put it down, the ending was fabulous. I’m giving this book five stars and highly recommend it.

Loved Quinn & Callum's story! The banter between these two was so much fun. These two definitely had lots of chemistry! Who doesn't love a hot Scottish lead! Highly recommend!

“Sinful Beats” by Arell Rivers was my first introduction to her storytelling and I certainly was pleased with my first-time experience. “Sinful Beats” is a story of unexpected love between our FMC, Quinn, and sexy Scottish MMC, Callum. She is a documentary director and after a long day filming with the internationally famous band, Untamed Coaster, she meets her downstairs neighbor when she stomps down the stairs to stop the BLARING music from below. What she doesn’t expect is to be greeted by a wet, clad only in a towel, red haired, Scott who will ultimately turn her world upside down. We find out that our MMC, Callum, has some skeletons in his closet — meaning the new Scottish Whisky launch he’s working is actually his family’s whisky empire and that has unfortunately attracted women only our for his money. Callum doesn’t WANT to want Quinn because he’s burned one too many times, but her smile and pink bunny slippers opens his heart back up to having love. When secrets are revealed, their relationship turns on its axis and the pair try to let the other go — but will it stick or will they find their way back to each other?

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a wholesome story of two people who have experienced judgement in their past and forced to stay secret about the identity of their families for way too long. It’s definitely a slow burn where you get to really know the characters and the daily lives. It’s magic when Quinn and Callum finally get together — their feelings for one another are just so pure and honest, it’s hard NOT to love them! I recommend this book if you want a slow burn that just melts the heart in all the right ways. The story doesn’t obliterate you but you definitely go through it when the couple is trying to find their way back to each other.

The questions remains …. whose story is next in the “Untamed Coaster” series? 🤔 I didn’t forget about the sexy band at the center of this story!

Secrets always come to light

Quinn is the secret daughter of Ogden Hansen of VOW3 Media. Her half siblings stories were told in the series Sins of the Fathers, & I’m so glad we get to hear Quinn’s story & see her HEA.

She’s a very driven television producer & is currently producing a rockumentary project following Untamed Coaster (UC), who is trying to bounce back after a tragic loss.

After watching & listening to UC practice day in & day out, the loud booming from her downstairs neighbor of the same music is not what she bargained for. Nor is the instant attraction felt when she knocks on the door and meets Callum. But with the recent incarceration of her father, Quinn is in no place to start a relationship, no matter how tempting.

Callum is laser focused on the introduction of his family’s authentic Scottish whiskey to the US. He’s in the depths of planning a spectacular launch party that will be headlined by his favorite band, UC. But when the beautiful Quinn knocks on his door, his focus shifts gear a little. Being from a prestigious family, he never knows who to fully trust when it comes to his fortune. Gold-diggers abound, so when Quinn assumes he simply works for Moray Distillery, he finds the omission of his heritage the easiest way to play his cards.

The connection & banter between Callum & Quinn is instantaneous & electric. I loved the way that they just feed off of each other’s energy & seem to slide into an easy friendship. Their intimate moments are even more explosive because of how they communicate so well.

Funnily enough, MIScommunucation is their downfall. Secrets rarely stay secret forever. Their third act strife could’ve been prevented with a little extra trust & truthfulness. But as with every good HEA, true love can thrive with a little extra work.

Can’t wait for more from the Untamed Coasters series, I’m ready for these boys to fall hard & fast.

Sinful Beats is about Quinn and Callum. We briefly met Quinn in Idle, which was part of the Sins of Our Father series. She is Paige's (and Theo's) half sister and worked on the show Paige was trying out for. Quinn wants to make documentaries, and she got her chance to make one with rock band, Untamed Coaster (UC). She is not going to let anything distract her. Not even her sexy Scottish neighbour, Callum. Callum has learned to keep his families fortune a secret, as he has been burned one to many times. The only thing he cares about is his whiskey's launch in the United States and UC's performance at the launch. He didn't expect to be so attracted to the next door neighbour. Feelings begin to intensify, a relationship develops, but he has to come clean about who he really is.

I really loved the banter and chemistry between Quinn and Callum. I loved how they just spent time together enjoying each other's company. A friendship developed, but it was obvious how much they liked each other. I loved to see Quinn's guard come down and she begins to confide in him. They had so much fun together too, and he helps her cope with some of the pain she was feeling about her family.

I hate generally don't enjoy miscommunication/hidden identity trope, so the third act conflict wasn't great for me, but I did like them coming together to get their happily ever after. I also look forward to seeing what other books Arell writes in the companion series.

If you like burly Scottish men, rock star drama and steamy romance, this is the book for you! Thank you to the author for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.

SINFUL BEATS by Arell Rivers is the story of Quinn and Callum.
Quinn has been doing a documentary on the band Untamed Coaster/ UC and has just returned home from their tour. All she wants is piece and quit with a side of food. But what she gets is her new neighbor blaring the UC band. So she goes to lay into him and finds a towel clad Callum. Callum is from Scotland and is in the US to help launch the family Scottish Whisky. Callum has been burned by women using him for his family business and money. So he is always leery of women...but there is something about this women. this starts their exciting story.

Quinn Walker is filming a documentary about the return of Untamed Coaster, a band that lost a member because of an accidental overdose. They are still reeling from the loss. They have a new keyboardist, Tristan, who is trying valiantly to belong, but they aren’t making it easy on him. The other members have 10 years of history in common, and Tristan isn’t privy to that. Additionally, they each have guilt and pain to process and they miss their friend. The band isn’t gelling, but they are approaching a deadline where they are to perform for the Moray Distillery launch. Callum MacMurray lives in the apartment below Quinn, but is originally from Scotland; his family founded Moray Distillery years ago, and he is in charge of launching their US branch. His favorite band is Untamed Coaster, and he likes to play his music loud! Unfortunately, the noise disturbs Quinn after a particularly difficult day with the band. She pounds on his door to get him to turn it down, and meets Callum wearing a towel. Yep, she likes what she sees. She also assumes that he works for the marketing department of the distillery, and Callum doesn’t correct her, because he is exhausted by the women who only want to be with him because of his wealth and family name. He loves that Quinn just sees him as a normal guy and he doesn’t want to change that. Unfortunately, this causes some tension throughout the story, because readers can tell there will be a reckoning…

This book is the start of a series about this band. Readers are introduced to each of the band members and to their wonderful manager, who has a LOT of patience. Since neither Quinn nor Callum are in the band, but are both associated with it peripherally, this story works beautifully as the start of the series. This book is wonderful! It’s fun and interesting, too! The story flows well, and there are lighter moments mixed in with the heavier parts. There is a bit of angst throughout, and it ramps up near the end, but it all works out beautifully. The book is compelling and hard to put down once you get started. Callum and Quinn just work well as a couple. He fills ‘gaps’ that she has in her life, and she fills those for him as well. There is some angst toward the end, but they eventually figure things out.

This story is a unique take on celebrity romance.
Quinn is directing a rock documentary about the band Untamed Coaster who lost a member to overdose, they’re struggling to get back into the music and accept their new band mate.
Callum is the heir/owner of a multigenerational Scottish whiskey distillery/brand that has just opened their first location the US. They are hosting the band’s comeback, as Untamed Coaster is Callum’s favorite band.
The two meet in their apartment building and a friendship strikes up that turns into something more in slow burn fashion.
I enjoyed their interactions, the quirky factor of both characters, their great conversations and the flirting was fantastic. There’s angst mixed with humor. It’s a pretty cute relationship that has humor and hot chemistry.
Both are keeping secrets from each other. Both are wary of people and afraid of being used and judged. They both have major trust issues.
Their worlds are quite interconnected, they don’t realize the scope.
As things progress Quinn opens up a bit, while Callum still holds his secrets in.
Secrets don’t stay hidden and what ensues is quite a messy, devastating disaster that affects them and others.
Trust is a major theme in this story.
How they handle this emotionally charged situation will determine if they have a future together or not.
It’s really cool how celebrity and fame were in the story in multiple ways, it was a fresh take on the trope and I love that.
The characters are really likable despite the secret keeping. I was rooting for their happily ever after.

This was my first book by Arell Rivers.

I did like the storyline between Quinn and Callum. Quinn who is directing a documentary of a rock band and Callum who is launching his whisky in New York. Their paths cross when he is playing music too loudly and Quinn goes downstairs to tell him to turn it down.

They begin to spend time together however although Quinn confides in Callum, he doesn’t do the same thing and everything comes crashing down around them when truths are revealed.

I found the flow of the story slightly difficult because of the Scottish words used. (I’m saying this as a Scottish person.)
Arell did try and I commend that but for me, our dialect varies so greatly even within a ten mile radius so somethings Callum said felt off.

I’m sure for many readers this won’t detract from the story so I recommend you read and make up your own mind.

A Sweet Love Story

Sinful Beats is one of those feel-good books that thrive on the banter and chemistry between two people with secrets that they are trying to hide. Quinn has been making a documentary on the world-famous band Untamed Coaster who are trying to come back after a tragedy within the band. Callum is a Scottish looker who is from a well off family within the whiskey business and is having his favorite band UC at his launch for his famous whiskey company.

I loved how these two met with Quinn in cute bunny slippers and Callum in only a towel. That was one heck of a first meeting for these two neighbors. This was a fun and heartwarming read that I couldn’t put down.

Another great read from this author! Quinn is making a rockumentary about the band Untamed Coaster and is determined to not be distracted by anything or anyone. Enter her Scottish hunk of a neighbor Callum. He is equally determined to not be distracted from his launch party for his brand of Scottish whiskey. Over time they become friends but both have secrets that could change everything between them. I really enjoyed their story! Can't wait for more.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book!

I really enjoyed the story of Quinn and Callum. Romance with spice is for sure the way to go. Quinn, who grew up with no real family, a father who was in jail and who no one know that it was her dad, or really knowing what love was, buried herself into her job making documentaries. She was assigned to do a Rockumentary on a famous band called Untamed Coaster, which also was the band who was going to be playing for Callums launch party for his families Whisky company. There’s is where the two end up meeting, but Callum is to afraid to tell Quinn that he owns it, because of his past with gold diggers. As they continue to fall in love, the lie still lingers until…..well I guess you’ll have to read to find out what happens!!! It’s worth the read I promise. Quinn is a strong, independent amazing strong female character, and Callum is a hot, many, strong Scottish lad.

This is such a brilliant read.
When Quinn and Callum first meet there is an attraction but also anger as he is disturbing her peaceful night.
They soon get closer as friends but the more time they spend together it turns into love but there are still some secrets between them.
What happens when the secrets come out.
A must read full of love and so much emotion but also plenty of drama.

What happens when you’re making a Rockumentary that’s leading up to a grand opening for a Scottish whisky and the person who’s hosting said opening is the bands biggest fan? Well if your Quinn and Callum so much! This was a great story with amazing characters and some of my favorites from the Sins of the Father series popped in as well.

A great, steamy read with lots of Outlander references to keep it even more fun.

While this was a solid, well written, well edited story, Callum was my favorite part. While I liked Quin, I didn't love her. I know she was the link between the two series, but there was a little unneeded drama on her part I could have done with out. Callum, however, I LOVED him! I seem to have a thing for Scottish men, and I would love to see Angus get his own story.
The introduction to Untamed Coaster was great. I can't wait to see who in the band gets the next story in the series.

This was a 4.5⭐️ read

We briefly met Quinn in another series... Sins of the fathers, she is the secret daughter of Ogden Hansen of VOW3 media.
This is a cute read of two people who have secrets. But these secrets are there to protect themselves from being hurt again.
Callum and Quinn are attracted to each other, but will the outing of their secrets divide them for good?
This is a great read of how people can be judged by who their families are, rather than on their own merit.
This is a slow burn romance that will melt your heart.
Oh and love the bunny slippers 😉

Sinful Beats is a phenomenal kickoff to the new Untamed Coaster rockstar series by Arell Rivers!

This standalone novel brings us up close and personal with rockumentary creator Quinn (the surprise sister first introduced in the Sins of the Father series) as she falls in love with Callum, his whisky and his kilt!

Swoonworthy Scotsman hero, strong, hardworking, relatable heroine,  grief stricken rock band struggling to start over and that whisky!

Quinn and Callum meet when Quinn angrily rushes down to the lower level apartment to tell them to turn down their music. She is pleasantly surprised when she finds sexy Scotsman Callum. He gifts her a pizza peace offering the next day and finds out she is filming a documentary on the band that is playing at the launch of his family’s whiskey. They become close and closer and she tells him about her family. Callum doesn’t quite open up fully about his family and Quinn feels betrayed that he wasn’t truthful. Find out how they work out their differences and are able to find their HEA. An enjoyable 2 day read. You’ll love it.

This one sucks you in from the very beginning. How Quinn and Callum first meet and lead to him giving her the nickname “Flopsy” is quite entertaining. As these two spend more time around each other and admit to their growing attraction. While Quinn is working on the documentary with Callum’s favorite band he enjoys hearing the inside scoop as to what’s going on with them as they prepare for their comeback and performance at his Whiskey launch party. These two grow a lot closer and Quinn ends up telling Callum all about her dad and how he’s hidden her away and not publicly claimed her and the issues that came when his other family recently learned about her. While Quinn is sharing her dirty laundry she’s thinking what an “honest” guy Callum is and admires how he doesn’t let her family history change anything. Boy she doesn’t know the big secret that he’s been hiding from her.

As we get closer to the opening and Callum finally decides he better tell Quinn about his heritage. While he’s trying to get her aside to tell her things keep preventing that from happening. The band has some breakthroughs then set backs leading up the launch party. As the launch party draws closer you can feel the tension rise will Callum be able to tell Quinn before she finds out his heritage from someone else. Will the band Untamed Coaster pull it together and put on a good performance or will they implode. The launch party is filled with unexpected drama and things come out into the open in a way you never saw coming. Absolutely loved the drama surrounding the launch party.

Quinn and Callum each struggle with the fallout from the launch party. But as things become clearer and family supports each of them. Will they find their way back to each other or is it truly over. They each are dealing with their own issues from the launch party but will they be able to come back together again. All the scenes surrounding this and the eventual conclusion are pages that you won’t want to miss. The ending was awesome, I absolutely loved it. This is one of those books that is so good once you start reading you won’t want to put it down. Arell Rivers did an awesome job in bringing the characters together from the Sins of the Fathers and Untamed Coaster series. You won’t want to miss this one.

I received an ARC copy of this book.

Sinful Beats (Untamed Coaster #1) by Arell Rivers is a contemporary romance told in first person dual POV. Although this book is a crossover from the Sins of the Fathers series, it can be read as a standalone. The story follows the relationship between Quinn Walker, an up-and-coming director filming her first rockumentary, and her new neighbor, Callum MacMurray, heir to the Moray Whisky dynasty.

Quinn is having a challenging time directing her rockumentary, because the band starring in it, Untamed Coaster, is off their game, dealing with grief after losing their keyboard player. She’s been filming as they prepare for an upcoming performance, their first one after taking a year-long break. The last thing Quinn wants to hear on her time off is Untamed Coaster blasting through her floorboards from the apartment below hers. When she meets her new Scottish downstairs neighbor, she doesn’t hesitate to give him a piece of her mind.

Callum is preparing for a launch party to promote Moray Distillery expanding into the United States, and he’s hoping to help his family’s whisky brand make a name for itself in the states. He can’t believe that his favorite band, Untamed Coaster, has agreed to play at the launch. Callum is so excited to be hosting their first gig as they return to performing. Hopefully, this will be a comeback for Untamed Coaster and great publicity for Moray Whisky. After a confrontation with his fiery upstairs neighbor, Callum shows up with a peace offering, and their friendship begins.

As Quinn and Callum work towards launch day, they grow closer. But Callum has been keeping a big part of his identity a secret, and Quinn has no tolerance for lies. What will happen when she finds out the truth?

I enjoyed Quinn and Callum's story. They were both likable and relatable characters, and I enjoyed how their relationship started from friendship and grew into more as they spent time together. It was also fun to see some characters from the Sins of the Fathers series again. The story needed some more conflict, but overall, it was a fun read.

Secrets, Sins & Rockstars!

Quinn is making a rockumentary about the comeback of the globally famous Untamed Coaster (UC) after tragedy struck the band. We are introduced to the guys in the band as we follow their journey to a comeback performance following the loss of their keyboard player and how they struggle to bring his replacement into the band family. Quinn is also the 'unknown' daughter of one of the men embroiled in the scandal which is the background of the Sins of the Father's series.

Callum is her neighbor and is working on launching his family's brand of Scottish whisky into the US at their brand new Moray Distillery. Callum makes out that he is only an employee as he has been hurt in a past relationship with someone who turned out to be a gold-digger. They both are keeping secrets regarding their identities and as we all know, secrets have a way of coming out at the most inopportune times!

This is a slow burn romance with an amusing meet-cute! There is a lovely connection and easy banter between Quinn and Callum, but Callum just can't seem to find the 'right time' to entrust Quinn with his real identity. Quinn has entrusted him with the information regarding her parentage but an untimely revelation brings unwanted media attention, feelings of betrayal and masses of hurt. As with any good romance, despite all this we get a really good HEA.

What I also loved about this story is that Arell Rivers has blended her rockstars world into a spin-off of the Sins of the Fathers series. Characters from both make appearances throughout, but this book can still be read as a standalone.

We are also introduced to Untamed Coaster and I'm waiting impatiently to see who is next up in this fabulous new series.

This is my honest and voluntary review after receiving an ARC.

A hunk of a Scottish man & a beautiful woman trying not to let the world find out her true identity.

Quinn Walker, is the secret daughter of a man who has been put in jail pending his trial that they say is bigger then the Enron scandle.
She is working on a rockumentry with the very famous Untamed Coasters.
The band has recently lost their keyboardist to a fatal drug overdose.
They have sinced hired a new keyboardist.
They are a very tight knit band so, to add a keyboardist, even though he is very talented, does make for some rough waters.

As Quinn follows them around to document their tansformation and play their first concert since the loss of their band mate, she works hard to prove to herself that she is good at what she does.

Callum MacMurray, hails from a fair city of Elgin, Scotland.
He is launching Moray Distillery for the first time on US soil.
They make Scottish Whiskey and is planning on having his all time favorite band, Untame Coasters play at the dedication.
This will be their first gig back together live and with a new keyboardist.

When he meets his upstairs neighbor, Quinn, who comes a pounding on his door because, he is playing the Untamed Coasters too loud.
She explains that she has to listen to that music all day and would prefer not to hear it all night.

Soon these two are seeing a lot more of each other and things are heating up.
The only problem is that Quinn doesn't like secrets.
She's been her daddy's dirty secret for a long time.
As Callum falls more and more for Quinn, who has bared all of her secrets to him, he's hiding a big secret.
He keeps trying to tell her but, something always gets in the way.

This is a Sins of the Fathers crossover that has a very slow burn, and a rockstar group of guys that are so very loveable.

I hope we will be able to read more soon.

Sinful Beats, the first of the crossover books from the Sins of the Fathers series, is an easy and endearing read that kept me involved from the start.

Ah Callum! Our lad from Scotland—over the Pond to bring his family’s whiskey (or whisky sp European) brand to the United States. We meet him as he has been given the responsibility of this Grand Opening, and as he becomes mired in the details, he meets his neighbor, Quinn, a cinematography director who is creating a Rockumentary for Callum’s favorite band, Untamed Coasters.
This story has some great sub-stories to it, that could easily become a spin off series. Certainly, the key story of Callum and Quinn is romantic, spirited and, in fact, dreamy. References of Scotland, Outlander and Jamie Fraser, all have us harking to ginger haired Scots in yes, a kilt!
However, my favorite person is Quinn, a character spin off from the Sins of the Father’s series, who ties in the previous series‘ characters well while making a spark of her own. Her desire to not just watch the Untamed Coasters exist behind the camera as their comeback unfolds, she is involved with them as people, and wants to help them succeed as they evolve after the death of one of their band mates.
Every good story has a pivotal point, and in Sinful Beats the pivot is honesty. Enjoying his anonymity, Callum keeps his position in the family business a secret from Quinn as he is appreciating their relationship without the influence of his position. When Quinn finds out (in a very public way) her hurt and anger are understandable, she feels deceived. Their HEA is a grand gesture worthy of an Arell Rivers novel!
Enjoy Sinful Beats as I did, and as I look forward to the next in the series.

This is now my favourite Arell book. Her return to the world of Rockstars is a triumph.
We have a story of two people who meet through the music of Untamed Coaster. Callum is a Scot, in New York to launch a new Whiskey. Quinn, who we have meet in the Sins of the Fathers series, is making a documentary series about the band trying to heal themselves after the tragic death of one of their brothers.
A not too friendly first meeting for Callum and Quinn takes a diversion when they discover their mutual love of Untamed Coaster's music, but both have secrets that are in danger of tearing them apart.
Quinn has managed to keep herself out of the public eye when her Father is on trial for stealing money from clients, but trusts Callum with her story and the awful truth that she has a Step Family that she has only just made contact with.
Quinn trusts Callum with her secrets and is devastated when she finds he has been keeping secrets of his own from her.
As Quinn helps Untamed Coaster find their way back together as a band and to the music they love can she also find her way back to the man she loves. Can she forgive his betrayal or is he just another person who has let her down.
This is a fantastic story. We have a Rock Band that lost it's way, a Scot who is trying to launch a new Whiskey in the USA and a girl simply trying to find her way out of her own awful family mess.
It is impossible not to love the characters in this story, Quinn and Callum particularly. I loved the way Arell has sneaked Cole, Ozzie and a few other Rockstars from previous books into the story.
Please pick this up and give it a read, you won't be sorry. I can't wait to see where we go next with the guys of Untamed Coaster, if this book is anything to go by it will be quite a rise.
