Minerva figured an old, wealthy family like the Bairds would have a few skeletons in the closet. She just didn’t expect the tree guy to dig one of them up. But when the century-old remains of a mysterious Baird relation are found on the grounds of the family’s famous estate, Minerva is eager to once again delve into history and unearth the truth.
Until the murdered woman’s granddaughter comes to Tybryd, and winds up murdered herself. Now the deeper Minerva digs into the past, the more dangerous the present becomes. And the more bizarre. As she and her indomitable dog Plantagenet sift through the secrets buried with those bones, they dredge up arcane treasures, enigmatic maids, the Titanic, and … witchcraft?
Impenetrable as the terrain may seem, Minerva will have to uncover the pieces of two women’s lives, broken and buried more than a hundred years apart. Because if she can’t, she might just end up six feet under.

Minerva Biggs isn’t your average girl. She’s obsessed with or rather passionate about if you like history and all the mysteries it contains. So when old bones appear on the grounds of the hotel you know she’s gonna be jumping at the chance to find out the who, the what, the how, etc. What she not anyone else expects is for that very cold case to lead to a murder just a short while later. When witches get involved the case goes from cold to odd in a heartbeat. While Ruby and her staff are investigating the mundane, Minerva with a reluctant Percy take on the less conventional avenues of investigation. What follows is a story that is fun, engaging, intriguing and has a couple of big surprises you won’t see coming. Absolutely great fun!!
Minerva Biggs is back and again getting involved in history and mysteries. She starts poking out around a local old wealthy family, the Baird Family. Looking for skeletons in their closet, until she finds an actual one buried on their large estate. And she keeps digging an actual person connected to the victim dies. This Mysteries are quite interesting with me character having this passion and also curiosity to find out secrets in history, which usually ends up putting her in serious danger. They're always entertaining and also engrossing at the same time.
I truly enjoyed this book. Minerva gets caught up in the history of the Baird family. There is also an element of witchcraft and as always the delightful Plantaganet. Also a nice surprise at the end. Well worth reading.
As always, The Guest Is History is a totally enngrosing read and has some surprising plot twists. I love Cordelia Rook books and this one kept me guessing as to who the killer was until the very end. Thank you, Cordelia. I can't wait to start reading Book 5.
