Tortured and ruined for all women who cross his path, he still remains the most infamous seducer in a world filled with magic and creatures of myth. His one dream? To destroy the kingdom that took everything he ever cared for.
Abigail is everything a man could ask for. She’s sweet and charming, with a little bit of New York flair. She soon realizes her love for a gorgeous prince is the worst decision of her life, and she spirals to new levels of depression. After her kidnapping, it seems her fate is doomed, but she cannot fight the feelings that lurk beneath her conscience. This tortured man who stands before her, offers freedom like she has never felt with another. But will it be enough to erase her past?
Trauco’s love goes no further than the women from which he steals. That is, until he sets his heart on the wrong kind of target. Will he finally fall like the others and take on a vessel, or will his battle for vengeance continue?
Original. This is the best word I can give for this book. Rose has created a plot unlike any I've ever read before in this genre. I like original, it can become a little tiresome to read the same sort of formulaic writing in romance, but I did not have to worry with Rose's work.
The characters were engaging, well rounded and interesting. The emotional connection between them was wonderfully done, something you don't always see, the emtional coming second to the sexual in some fiery books! The descriptive prose was excellent, and the 'feel', you know that vibe you get from a book, was spot on.
Cons? Well it kinda slowed down a little in some place, but soon picked back up--so I'm not going to moan! I am however, going to take a heart off for that, so it's 4 hearts for Rose and The Vessel.
Next in the series? Well I don't doubt it'll be excellent, I look forward to release and you know, I wouldn't be suprised to see Miss Rose on the bestsellers list at some point.
The plot of The Vessel was truly original and I was amazed at the creativity. Amanda Rose’s writing style made the story come to life with her wonderful descriptions. She is definitely a creative genius and I can’t wait to see more work from her. However, the story had a few dragging moments. All-in-all, The Vessel was a good debut novella from an author who is going places. Although it wasn’t perfect, it’s worth a read. I think with more practice, Amanda Rose is heading for the bestsellers list.
I was fortunate enough to read this story before publication. I have to say that Amanda Rose did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. The creativeness, and the fact that this story is so different from all the same ol' same stories out kept me glued to my computer. I LOVED Trauco and Abigail. Their connection sucks you right in and has you turning page after page until you finish. I can't wait for the second edition of this book!!!
I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy of the book! Great book from a fantastic new author!!! Loved her take on the Fae and mages great story, love Trauco!! Can't wait to see how the series progresses with Trauco and Abby!!!
The Prologue was very confusing. There was head hoping and information dumping without actually explaining what was going on. Was the boy in the beginning Trauco? Why did he have a different name then? Why were they hunting his father? Who were those men? Those few pages left me lots of questions, no answers.
Chapter one throws the reader in the middle of an argument between our main character Abigail and some guy. I read this scene twice and still have no idea what they’re fighting about. She never explains it.
The head hopping continues as well as flashbacks that leave more questions and confusions. What does it mean she carries more than one life around now? Is she pregnant? Does she carry souls or something. This is paranormal. A lot of chapters start with no names so there’s no clue who you’re reading about until a few paragraphs in.
I really thought the plot sounded wonderful. It’s like the book was edited too much or the author was rushing this and forgot to mention much information about the characters. I think with some fine tuning Ms. Rose would be a hit but alas, this particular book was not.
