No child is too small or too young to hear the message of salvation, especially the simple and touching version told by Kelly Hagen in her book Jake & Jesus. Jake's explanation about his relationship with the Lord and Savior clearly shows children they too can have a forever best friend in Jesus!

Jake & Jesus
Kelly Hagen
Jesus is Jake’s best friend. In this darling book, Jake tells the readers why Jesus is his best friend.
Jesus is never too tired for him
Jesus talks to him and Jake can talk to him anytime
Jesus gave his life for Jake and for all, what a gift!
Jake gives Jesus his heart.

Kelly Hagen uses simple wording, and structure to bring the truth of salvation to youngsters. Young Jake describes his life with Jesus being his best friend for the reader and invites them to have Jesus be their best friend as well. Fantastic witnessing book for young ones as it is easy to grasp, and with the faith as a child God can use this book to draw the youngest to him. Perfect size for toddler hands and it comes with a free audio download. Play it for your Sunday school class as you share the love of Jesus with them!
As we move into the Easter season I encourage those with young ones to get this book to put in the child’s Easter basket, refocus on the reason for the holiday. They will treasure it, just as Jesus treasures them!
I received a copy of this book from Kelly Hagen, a fellow Kentuckian!
May God bless her and her ministry to youngsters through this book.

What I Like: Any book that tries to portray Jesus as a living, breathing person to a child is going to get a thumbs up by me. I feel this is something the book did very well.

The illustrations are pretty cute, too. Jake seems like a pretty sweet kid!

What I Dislike: I understand this is a difficult concept for kids to grasp, however, I really felt this book talked down to a child's intelligence just a little. Maybe for the younger set, it would be fine, but to me, it really felt condescending in tone. Also, while it touched on the fact that Jesus died for us, and we go to Heaven because of His death, the book didn't explain why this is the case--no mention of sin or anything of the sort. If I were talking about this book with my daughter, I'd be shorting her if I didn't point out the reason why Jesus died for us is because of the bad things we do.

A wonderful children's book which tells the salvation story in a way children should have no problem understanding. They will come away knowing that Jesus loves them and will be their best friend throughout life. Kelly Hagen shares in her book how children can talk to Jesus at any time just like they talk to their family and friends. Great book which will help parents to build an early, solid foundation of Biblical truths for their little ones!

Kelly Hagen's story Jake and Jesus is an inspirational and lovely way for young children to get to know Jesus. Young Jake explains in a heartfelt way how wonderful it is that Jesus is his best friend and how much that means to him. The illustrations in Jake and Jesus are precious and add to the uplifting tone of the story. An enjoyable book with a great message! This would make an excellent read-aloud too!

Jake and Jesus by Kelly Hagen is a terrific story of a boy and his best friend, Jesus. Jake honestly and clearly helps the reader to understand Jesus and why He is Jake’s best friend. He brings to life the special relationship he has and others can have with Jesus. I am excited to read this to my own young son and know, in it, he too will be able to understand how wonderful Jesus is. I highly recommend this sweet book!

Jake & Jesus is a sweet little book that is written from the perspective of the child, Jake. Jake shares all about what it is like to be best friends with Jesus and about giving his heart to Jesus. He tells about how Jesus died for us so that we can live with Him in heaven and He chose to do that because He loves us so much. Jake & Jesus would be a great gift for any child you may be wanting to share with about Jesus including your Sunday school class, a neighbor child, or a grandchild.

Sometimes it's hard to explain spiritual truths to our children. Kelly Hagen portrays a beautiful and simple relationship between Jake and Jesus that will be easy for children to understand and emulate. I recommend this book to anyone who wishes for the children in their lives to really know Jesus, not just know about him.

Jake & Jesus by Kelly Hagen is a wonderful story to share with little ones who struggle to understand who Jesus really is. Not only does it give perspective on His purpose, but it conveys his unfailing love and desire for a relationship with every child. The illustrations add to the warmth and characterization of the message.

Jake and Jesus is a great book for helping children to understand Jesus as God in the flesh. The reader will easily identify with Jesus as a knowable person who can help us in our living. Author Kelly Hagen does a great job of encouraging children to get to know Jesus as a real person. Children (mom and dad too) will be blessed, encouraged, and inspired by the reading of this book.

Love Illustrated

Jake & Jesus, by Kelly Hagen, is a small children's book with adorable illustrations and a huge message. Jake convinced me of his love for his best friend, Jesus. With Him, he could talk and play, sing and pray--anytime. Best of all, Jake gave Jesus the gift of his heart.

My only regret was that the book ended too quickly.

Great book for young kids! The pictures are great and the story is easy for little minds to understand how much Jesus loves them. I bought one for my kids and gave one to my baby nephew. Every kid needs to know Jesus is their friend and they can spend time with Him every single day.
