Until he is sixteen years old, illegitimate Dan Armond heeds his motheras teaching regarding honesty and truth. When she dies Dan is adopted by Rev. Joel Criswell, a minister who takes advantage of his position to acquire wealth and power. Haunted by his poverty-stricken past, Dan is tempted and succumbs to a quest for power himself. Consequently, he becomes a charming but corrupt TV evangelist who mercilessly exploits his family and friends to satisfy his insatiable greed and need to be worshiped. Eventually, though, sexual indiscretions and other unpredictable circumstances intensify conflict in Rev. Dan Criswellas life to the point of being insurmountable.
Mary S. Palmer has a Bachelor of Arts (Cum Laude) and a Master of Arts in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing. She has published seven books: MemoraMOBILEia and False Gods, with Elizabeth Coffman, Ph.D. The Callings, with Loretta Theriot; Quest for Forgiveness, with James McEnery; and To Catch a Fish and Baiting the Hook with David Wilton. Her science-fiction book Time Will Tell and her short story, The Big City, in the book New Orleans by New Orleans, were released in 2012. Her screenplay, Joe and Joe, received third place in the Eugene Walter Writer's Fest. Mary writes in different genres, such as science-fiction and fantasy. She teaches English at Faulkner State Community College and Faulkner University. She has also taught creative writing. She resides in Mobile, Alabama but has visited all fifty U.S. states and every continent except Antarctica.
