Street Dreams

Pharaoh and Tez are partners in crime from Detroit who are forced to skip town after a botched bank robbery. Pharaoh serves as the brains of the operations while Tez is the muscle. The temporary relocation to Phoenix allows Pharaoh the opportunity to connect with some powerful players in the Mexican mafia. Once a business relationship is brokered between Pharaoh and his new connect Pharaoh heads back to the D in an effort to maximize his profit.

Pharaoh has the potential to be successful in the lucrative Detroit drug market if it weren’t for his philandering with the opposite sex and Tez’s instability. Pharaoh is the ultimate playboy usually bedding women under his alias Juan. His many conquests aren’t a problem until he decides to settle down with just one. Tez on the other hand was a problem from day one. Pharaoh foolishly thinks that he can control Tez with some minor busy work however Pharaoh will quickly learn just how uncontainable Tez’s bloodlust is.

Author Dorian Sykes’ Going All Out was an okay read. The storyline while not authentic was hampered by minor developmental issues. A removal of some unnecessary scenes would help the story flow and allow the book to stand out amongst others books in its genre.

Picked this one up from the library. I really wanted to stop reading about the foolishness that Pharoah and Tez were into but then it got interesting. I couldn't put it down.
