The third book in the series was just as much fun for me to read as the first two. We now have four men trying to deal with what happened at the end of book two - thank God they're werewolves and heal easily. I loved the 'side effects' of the drugs making the wounded even hornier than they already are, by the way - a very hot idea!

I also liked that some of the time was spent on showing their deepening and changing relationships. That's part of the charm - that there is more than sex between these men, and each of them fulfills a defined and necessary role. A fifth man turning up at their doorstep was a slight surprise - but maybe it shouldn't have been? As for the ending - I am now beginning to think this is going to go too far (i.e., become even more unlikely than it already is). I really hope it won't - this series is such fun, and I would hate to see that ruined.

Book three in the Wolf Harem series, Dying Assassin, continues with the mass production of new werewolves. Seems that anyone who knocks on Spencer's door is a prime candidate for becoming a werewolf. I know it's hard to start a pack, but going about it by making each and every member yourself is a bit odd. Regardless, that is the approach that Spencer has taken. I can't wait for the next installment in the series so I can see who the next members/partners will be. I reluctantly give this book 3 stars only because we can't give half stars.

What could possibly be hotter than four gorgeous guys in one big bed? Why five gorgeous guys of course! Joyee Flynn turns up the heat with the third book in her Wolf Harem series. Let me tell you why Dying Assassin is a must read for m/m menage fans...

I truly anticipate reading Joyee Flynn's series because she continues the love story of the couples introduced in all of the previous books. It begins with Spencer and Ryder, then continues with each book to change their relationship by adding a new man. These kind of relationships seem impossible until you learn more about the men and the circumstances that bring them together. The protagonists in this book are all so unique that they each bring something special to complete “harem”. Each scene was designed to illustrate the love these men have for each other. I was touched by the dedication of all the members of this little family to make their partners happy by self sacrifice and thoughtfulness. By the end of the book you'll be able to see that losing any one member of their group would devastate them and their special bond.

Another singular feature in shifter books is the bond between mates. Ms. Flynn manages to maintain the faithfulness in each mate while adding a new companion to the union. The scenes she creates are incredibly imaginative and leave the reader with a clear picture of what is happening. When these men get together in bed, a plane, and other random flat surfaces, the fireworks are almost overwhelming. These boys should come with their own "Smoking Hot" warning label.

This is book includes violence from outside forces. I can appreciate a story that allows the good guys to struggle just enough to refine their personalities. This refinement is evident as each person must deal with their own battles, and stand ready to unite with their lovers to face their foes. The protectiveness shown for their mates made me smile on several occasions.

This book does end with a cliffhanger, but it does not in any way endanger the partnership of the harem. I've added a BDSM tag to this review but it is not a strong element in the book and is, in my opinion, very light in nature. I strongly suggest reading the first two books in this series before continuing to Dying Assassin. This book is written in first person, and includes two different perspectives. Do not be concerned by this as the change in perspective makes perfect sense and really adds to the understanding of the story.

I highly suggest you read the Wolf Harem series, especially Dying Assassin as it is my favorite so far. There were moments that I laughed so hard I had to find my place again. I think you'll really enjoy this book and recommend picking it up today. I'll end with my favorite quote from the book: "Well, we can't have you upset, baby." I chuckled, taking his hand. "You're the one who feeds me."

it was good, I loved how the recovery from the last book went, I loved also that it showed the connection of Spencer with Luc, I was not a fan of the Dom/Sub scene with Spencer/Sean but it was ok.

Now my main problem with this book is that it doesn't show how Sean came from super weary to protective about Etan, secondly there isn't enough of a connection between Sean and Spencer, I was left wanting Spencer topping Sean, I mean even Sean said so, in the bed he likes to give control and bottom but here the two scenes I see of him with Spencer, he tops, Ryder is becoming annoying, really, too over dramatic, luc is fine and the thing about Ethan not being able to have an erection believable.

I also believe it needed more pages, it wasn't enough to portrait the connection between characters, too much happening and on focus and out of it as well.

My first impression was that it's kind of getting out of control after I've read this installment. I hope it won't really get out of control, but that will be known after the next book will be published.
Of course this book has a cliffhanger in the end, but that's become normal for this series.
I've also got the impression that the author has hard time while writing certain bed scenes since more and more participants appear X)
Though I have to say I've never seen other shifter books with that number of guys in one bed, so it's really is an outstanding attempt.
What will it be when and if 6 (or maybe even more) of them get together?

typical joyee flynn serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical joyee flynn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by :

lynn hagen
stormy glenn
scarlett hyacinth
carol lynne
gabrielle evans

unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win

I really loved this entire series. But this, the third book in the series, ended a little too abruptly for my sense of satisfaction. I hope that a fourth, or even more, books are in the offing. Just too much of a cliff-hanger. I loved the series so much, that I read all of them over the last few days (8/13-14/2011), and that means that the series is so fresh in my mind, that Spencer, Ryder, Lucas, Dean, Ethan, and the "Dying Assissin" Dallas, AKA the Wolf Harem, will be my favorite characters for a little while. Thank you Joyee, for making my weekend bearable.

Holy Cow! Can four turn to five or six? Imagine the relationship pitfalls that this could create. Jealousy and insecurities abound. Ryder has such a tough time of it but he has people who love and believe in him. Spencer's secret causes some more problems for the little pack. But the question becomes, will they continue to be pack or will greed lead to the pack’s demise! Augh! Another cliff hanger!

I liked it but found it hard that she does not keep with the things she mentions in her books.
It is not the first book I read from her that has contradictory things in it.

I loved Ethan but in the first part we meed him he physical(bulge) responds to the man kissing.

Later when Spencer tries to heat things up he can not get hard and states that he can't for a while now due to the cancer treatment.

But I love the relation between all the men and how they take good care of each other.

This instalment of this series is just a bit too much for my tastes. But then again I could just be getting sick of reading.
