About the author

Prior to becoming a writer of romantic and erotic fiction, Cindy went to college at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and graduated with a BFA in Art. After a brief attempt at an art career, she decided the 'starving artist' life wasn't for her. She worked for ten years in the corporate arena, but now spends her days as a full time author.

Her first published work was inspired by a collection of short stories she wrote to entertain her best friend. Since then she's explored her inner bad girl, producing books full of humor and packed with real emotion. As CJ Elliott she also writes wicked paranormal romance.

When not chained to her laptop, she enjoys belly dancing, international cooking, and making jewelry. She and her family make their home in the Washington, DC area.

Lila runs her own bakery and, as the story begins, is trying to get over a broken relationship. When the store closes one evening and she hears someone entering the front door she thinks it’s a customer but is shocked to see an old love, Gavin standing there.

Some of my favorite stories are about two people reconnecting. I liked both Lila and Gavin from the beginning of this story. You feel Lila’s pain of her broken relationship and you get the sense that work at the bakery is how she’s dealing with it. Gavin comes across as very sexy and you can see why Lila has liked him all these years. The dialogue is very natural sounding and the pacing very swift in these 32 pages. My only complaint with the book…I wanted it to be longer. Once you’ve invested your interest in Lila and Gavin you want to know what happens next.

Besides that, if you’re looking for twenty minutes of pure escapism with a sexy story of two reunited lovers, Leap might be your ideal read.

This was the first Ellora's Cave book I've ever read as well as my first Cindy Jacks and I must say WOW. This is a short story so I wasn't expecting much relationship building Gavin darkens the door of Lila's bakery, but around the hot, hot sex and butter cream icing the reader gets to know them. They were high school sweethearts who grew up, went separate ways, then came back together in all their orgasmic glory. Did I mention the sex was really hot and that there's butter cream icing? Yum.

I didn't like that she calls herself purposeless because she doesn't have a man, but by the end of the story she's empowered and ready to take another chance at love. They're grownups with grown children and they're still sexual beings. There is hope in these e-pages.

And hot sex. And icing. Loved it!
