In a small New England village, four women learn how erotic submission can be. Laura's handsome husband is terribly strict, forcing her to rebel. Damaris is taken in hand by the seductive Detective Flagg. Susan begins her freshman year in college by embarking on a sensuous odyssey with two charming older men. And Marguerite must choose between a life of dreamy submission or a reign as sex goddess.
I admit that this book holds a special place in my heart. It was the first professionally written spanking fiction I ever bought and read -- back in the day when books like this were often available in brick & mortar bookstores. This was long before I became actively involved in this scene and other related BDSM scenes -- fantasies were all I had and this book seemed to combine many of them between two covers.
What sets this book apart is that spanking and other corporal punishment fetishes are presented as part of the daily lives of the characters who engage in these activities. These activities are also shown to be part of healthy and loving relationships between people -- something that's often missing in stories like this. The characters are not "sick" or perverted (but there's nothing wrong with a little perversion in life), just every day people who happen to find that corporal punishment works for them as well as turns them on. Pretty much just like folks in real life who do these things.
Rather than go into minute details about the book, I would simply say that this book is particularly written for those people who might harbor spanking fetishism thoughts but don't want the harshness of some BDSM literature. If the Fifty Shades books weren't exactly your cup of tea, try this one. Very well written with interesting characters, exciting and sexy action, and with a touch of humor.
this series is special for me as it was the first spanking series I ever read. fantasies were all I had and these books seemed to combine with my fantasies. There's nothing like an old fashioned bare bottom spanking.
