DADLO: A MAN IN HURRY TO PROVE HIMSELF

‘DADLO' IS FOREVER
Once upon a time, there was a king and there was a queen. At the end of the story, they live happily ever after. But, our Dadlo is not such kind of king. He neither has a queen nor an empire. All he possesses is his mind and his dream. He must cross many hurdles to achieve that dream.
He wasn’t planning to shed even a single drop of blood by his perfect and harmless plan. Despite that many have lost their lives. In this game of snake and ladder, Peter Fernandez won. His roots and backstory are very interesting.
Peter alias Dadlo was born on 8th December 2019, at 7:45 PM. The place was Air-India flight number 662 from Goa to Mumbai. While returning from spending holidays in Goa with family, two times the announcement of delay was made. Then I noticed the fresh room for men. The board outside Male/Purush/Dadlo. I have found an offbeat and excellent title for my first thriller novel. Yes, after the success of three docu-novels, the idea of writing a long fiction solidified in that return journey. After arriving in Mumbai, I have finished a few tasks and talked with ‘Mumbai Samachar’s editor friend Nilesh Dave. In a blink of a moment, he gave me the green signal. It was a challenge and new territory for me. When one gets a platform like, Mumbai Samachar, a two hundred years old prestigious newspaper, his responsibility gets doubled. It’s not easy to grab readers’ attention constantly in an episodic novel. Surprisingly, I have started getting readers’ emails after two or three chapters. The encouragement from the readers energized me for writing with more passion. The messages I have been receiving via Facebook, WhatsApp, and Email were boosting my spirit. And then, an unexpected event occurred on a global scale.
The Covid-19 pandemic hit everyone. Dadlo too was stopped at the 56th chapter due to the lockdown. The thrilling journey started on 15th January 2020 suddenly stopped on 21st March 2020. During that tough time, Dadlo’s fans were constantly inquiring about the novel as if someone were asking and caring about their family members in Covid! ‘Dadlo would come back, right? Please bring him back as soon as possible!’
And Dadlo came back on 2nd July 2020. The scale of the novel was large and there were many characters, though the readers got linked with the novel instantly. Dadlo has won a bigger battle, a battle of surviving in life.
Naturally, the readers must be curious about the future of their favorite character, but for right now, let’s conclude here. Many stories in life need to be halted.
After ‘Mumbai Samachar’, the Dadlo got published as a Gujarati Novel and received an overwhelming response. Few producers and directors are in love with this novel. At right time, I wish it will transcend from paper to the big or small screen.
Dadlo’s success is not only my achievement, but it belongs to the readers and fans. Keep reading, liking, and loving.
Dadlo never losses, never fears anything, and never dies. Dadlo is forever.
