The New Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley #26

The Case of the Jingle Bell Jinx

Rate this book
Mary-Kate and Ashley are invited to the Winter Wonderland Resort to watch the filming of a holiday TV special. The show features top ice skaters from all over the country, including Mary-Kate and Ashley's two favorite skating sisters. But the show seems jinxed from the start. Props are missing, skaters are injured, and the show is in danger of being cancelled. Even worse, it seems as if the skating sisters are behind it all. Can Mary-Kate and Ashley get the skating spectacular back on ice?

"'Hey! Are you guys the famous Trenchcoat Twins?'...
'That's right. Olsen and Olsen at your service.'"

This year I've been all about rereading favorite childhood series, but this one just wasn't it.
The nostalgia was the best thing about it, with it's predictable storyline and flat characters.
Oh well!

The mystery of the jingle bell jinx is where Terry and Lisa lose their things and Ashley and Mary-Kate think the sisters are sabotaging each other so one of them can be the ice princess. My favorite part of the book is when Mary-Kate and Ashley get their clothing for the show. They were solving the case and got invited to join the show. In the end, they find out that the camera boy is the one doing the prank so he would have funny videos to post. The book was so good that I want the rest of the series. I want to watch their shows because the book makes them sound like great actresses!

Another cute Christmas/Winter-themed M-K&A themed book. I didn't like this one as much, since not long after they introduced Kenny in the story, who is in love with his skating website and will do anything to get it hits, I was already almost certain that he did the stealing and later all the other mishaps as well. And, yet, the Trenchcoat Twins had no idea who did it, and kinda somewhat fell into the traps Kenny set where they'd blame all the skaters instead.
But, the mystery was far too easy to solve, and the story useless dragged on and on after the truth was obvious. And, we're supposed to believe that the Trenchcoat Twins were oblivious.
----------------
I liked how Jake turned around in the end, though, deciding to be coach to both The Chan Sisters and Valerie. He seemed really nice. And, I was sad that the Trenchcoat Twins ever suspected him at all.
