Kitty's cat wants to see the beautiful Golden Tiger statue at the museum. But, cats aren't allowed in the museum. So, Kitty says, let's go at night! No one will be there! Once again, Kitty sets off at night (without telling anyone where she's going--I know she's a superhero but she's also a little kid so I'd love it if the series was clear that her parents somehow know what she's up to) and soon arrives on the rooftop at the museum with her cat friends. They peer in the window and see the beautiful statue. Feline wants to go inside and see the statue up close. Kitty says, no, we probably shouldn't, the museum isn't open, I don't think we should just go in. Feline says, aww, why not, it'd be fun. Kitty says, well, okay! The security guard cat at the museum catches them and thinks they are thieves. Kitty and friends are offended -- how could said cat think they were thieves!? (Ummm, because you look like you're breaking and entering!?) Feline security guard apologizes profusely (why!? they were totally going to bust in and visit the museum without permission) and invites them in to see the statue. The intercept an actual theft when a dog nabs the Golden Tiger. From there, we meet a cat that has the power to hypnotize other animals and people to do what she wants them to do (she got the dog to steal for her) so Kitty plays up an old legend surrounding the statue that it has a curse and evil spirits will come after you if you are a bad person (or cat) and take the statue for selfish reasons. It's clever thinking on her part but, for my taste, that's a little too creepy and over-the-top for a book that has a young girl wandering around in cat ears and overalls with a cat face on them ;-) If the premise of this doesn't bother you, give it a go s the story is decently written, well paced and has absolutely wonderful illustrations that are at once utterly adorable and also incredibly evocative and detailed (amazing with the museum pieces such as the vases etc. and the really bizarre hypnotized dog!). I just personally can't give it more than two stars given the premise of Kitty using her superpowers to bring her cat to the museum at night when she knows cats are not allowed and no one should be at the museum at night. I would recommend starting with the first book in the series, anyway.
Cleo sempat mengira Kitty and the gank adalah maling yg mengincar patung harimau emas.
Apakah Kitty dkk berhasil mendapatkan kembali patung harimau tsb?
Spt biasa saya suka dgn ilustrasinya. Ceritanya memang terlalu simple sih, tapi termasuk bagus lah utk anak-anak.
Another in the series I read to my 6 year old. This is a fun book. I’m baffled by the reviews on here as this is very clearly written for a young audience. It’s engaging without being too complex and the resolutions at the end are not drawn out and are very simple- which again, is perfect for a younger audience. My daughter is excited to know what happens next but it doesn’t send her young mind into overdrive with too much information or anticipation. The artwork is lovely and complements the atmosphere of the story well. Who, as a child, doesn’t dream of having super powers, talking to cats and going on night time adventures?
I really liked Kitty and the Tiger Treasure because there were a whole bunch more cats and I love cats. So if you are a cat lover, I think Kitty would be a super good book that you would want to read. Kitty meets different cats, unlike in the first book, where the cats meet her. But the only cats that she doesn't meet in Kitty and the Tiger Treasure are Pumpkin and Figaro. I don't want to go too far with the names, but I want to say that there are a lot of different cat names. Cleo is one of them, and Cleo is the cat who lives in the museum. And the main thing that the story is about is when they try to sneak in the see the tiger treasure, it gets stolen and that's their mission!
Katter, heltemodig jente i hovedrollen, lettlest, spennende men ufarlig.
Hvilke andre bøker kan det minne om? Isadora Måneblomst, Nelly Rapp, Dyrehagedetektivene, Håndbok for superhelter
Read aloud to Gwen and John (some Alec). I didn’t like this one quite as much as the first, but it was still cute and fun, if a little more over the top. Great length, vocabulary, and illustrations for early readers who are listening to longer books.
This was absolutely darling. I would have loved this as a kid and I enjoyed it as an adult. The illustrations were gorgeous and I love how kind and helpful Kitty is. I'll continue recommending this for families and their kiddos in the bookstore .
Kitty made a new cat friend and the ending was very satisfying. I loved it. I can't wait for the next book, but our library doesn't have these books. I think the next book is about a garden.

"Manusia memang makhluk yang suka mengeluh!" - Hlm. 80
I'm always on the lookout for absorbing stories to read with my five year old son. I found such a story with Kitty and the Tiger Treasure. We read a couple of chapters every night before bed and he was always reluctant to leave it and eager to know what would happen next. I enjoyed reading it with him too.
At the beginning we are introduced to Kitty and her Cat Crew. Kitty is a young girl with special powers and her crew are four cats who have her back and look after her. Kitty can talk to them and they're always looking for adventure. In this story Kitty goes to a local museum to see the Golden Tiger Statue which can apparently grant wishes. However, in front of Kitty's eyes the statue is stolen and she and her crew have to try and return it to its rightful place.
It's a delightful story, lots of fun and the chapters end with cliffhangers which really increased the desire to know what was going to happen to Kitty and her feline friends next. It's accompanied by the most beautiful illustrations, in fact this whole book is a feast for the eyes. With an orange and black theme, the illustrations are completely weaved in with the words and with little touches like pawprints for the page numbers it's just a gorgeous book.
We spotted a new Kitty adventure at the end of the book, coming in Spring 2020 and straightaway my son said he wanted it. I've also spotted another one coming out even sooner so I will definitely get that one for him too. I think we're both excited to read more about Kitty's superhero escapades.
1.5* Well, I'm not sure breaking and entering is the right kind of adventure. I was waiting for Kitty to face some consequences or even feel guilty about it. But no. If she had observed something suspicious or was pursuing a thief or a trespasser into the museum and was admitted by security, then that would be a different matter. But she goes for her and her cats to view a statue without the crowds and without security telling her 'no cats allowed'. Very disappointing. She uses her superpowers as an excuse for trespassing and even gets an apology from the cat on guard, as if the cat was in the wrong for confronting them. And they're rewarded with a tour. It not only shows trespassing as being fine if you have superpowers, but that you deserve special treatment too. It seems like Kitty faces no consequences for misusing her powers and responsibility in this way.
Now, they do then observe something suspicious and a theft ensues, but that should have come first. The guard cat could have even invited them in to get their help. But in this story, they actually distract the guard cat from her job and fail to stop the thief. And the cat feels so guilty and yet Kitty never says sorry or admits that it was her fault because they trespassed, only that she was sorry they kept her talking.
She then goes onto trespass again somewhere else in pursuit of the thief. And in order to get the thief to give the statue and other treasure back they trick and deceive her.
So overall, this one was really disappointing.

Kitty and friends set out for a nightly escapade to visit the museum and end up stumbling on the robbery for the very piece they meant to see. Adventures ensue.
The first successful book I read aloud to my six-year-old daughter, after attempting it with a pillar in children's literature Enid Blyton. But where Blyton felt archaic and outdated (at least in the Christmas Stories) and downright dull, Paula Harrison and the Tiger Treasure were like a short and fun tv series before going to bed. Each chapter ended in a cliffhanger of sorts, and there were no yawns from either the reader or the audience. A victory in itself when you consider it was read at the end of busy and long weekdays.
We read the translated version, and some of the words and phrases used felt slightly off or a tad above the six-year-old's grasp. But the trouble bits were simple enough to be fixed on the fly as I read, so there were no obstacles in our immersion in the story.
In this second installment of the series, Kitty, Pumpkin and Figaro go to a museum at night to see the famous Golden Tiger statue which is part of a new exhibit at the museum. When they get to the museum all kinds of adventures happen and they need to stop a thief from stealing the statue. Two new cats are introduced in this book: Cleo, museum guard cat and Precious, cat burglar and lover of shiny things. Cleo is a joy. I hope she got recognition for her work. Precious was also a fun character, a little bit amoral and quickly changes her tune when she hears of a potential curse on the statue.
As always, the illustrations in this book are so beautiful. The art is so crisp and whimsical and all things cat! I love going along with Kitty on her adventures.
