A Children's Picture Book. Early Learning, Suitable for 3 to 7 years old.
Puri is a delightful and endearing children's picture book brimming with charm and compassion, teaching young ones the value of love and friendship.
The story takes place on the beautiful island of Bali. Sam saves a homeless and pregnant dog and together they embark on a high-seas adventure in search of paradise. Each page is beautifully illustrated, inspired by the rich, warm and abundant colours of Bali. Most pictures also contain a hand-drawn Indonesian word taken from the story such as love (kasih), friend (kawan), family (kaliuga) and happy (senang), with a full glossary and pronunciation included at the back of the book.
Colour illustrations are best enjoyed by reading the paperback version or viewing on a colour-screen device.
Robin Craig Clark is an English author living in Tasmania. He writes eco-fiction and magical realism. Inspired by years of exploring wild landscapes and Celtic folklore, his books offer deep environmental connection rather than simple escapism. He invites readers to listen to the whispers of ancient languages, honor the natural realm, and discover the quiet courage it takes to heal a fractured world.
His latest novel, Heart of the Earth, is an immersive tale exploring these very themes.

A beautiful little true story about a young boy who finds a lost dog on a beach in Bali and gives it new hope. A very quick read and ideal for children.
A marvelous tale of Friendship and discovery for Children (of all ages)! A token of goodness and generosity, fueling positive and friendly emotions and a profound feeling of "oneness with all". Definitely the kind of story that will inspire children and young people to cherish and take good care of their friends, the pets. And with a delightful "extra" - the vocabulary given at each page of the book to enable children to relate to the local reality. Topping all this, the stunning images, themselves inductive of beauty and loftiness of Spirit!
I thought the story was delightful, especially in that it is a true story! Sadly, my kindle does not have color; so I would love to see a copy with color pictures. I enjoyed how the balinese language was used in telling the story and that the meaning was clear. Compassion and love towards all of earth's creatures is what this story teaches. More books like this for children are what is needed in this world where selfishness and images of violence reign supreme. So, many thanks to Robin Clark for putting it out there.
