Incredibly strong start for this considering my initial, very wrong, judgment. Some lovely writing but story felt a little forced and worked out the ending quite early on. Still a nice little read and a healthy reminder to never judge a book by its cover.
This book was... weird. So "Rose" kills her baby sister when she was 4 years old and then later in life, she becomes a mute. Enter brother Max, this bizarre ex drug addicted cult leader that vows to protect Rose from everything. Can it get any more random? I don't think so. And I didn't particularly enjoy the randomness here. I also found the writing style a bit clumsy - there was no real flow to the writing. And of course, the ending - the big secret reveal - which I foretold from around page 50.
