This book has some great points about protecting assets within a trust as opposed to a will. Also has a good timeline for when to get long term care insurance. The rest of concepts in this book were elementary or I did not agree with.

Quite easier to read than to do! Still, important tips that may help -- even without great interest rates and a volatile market run by riche with programs.

I read this book in order to help my parents navigate getting their finances in order now that they are retiring. I would not purchase this book for myself at this time, as some of the topics discussed are already outdated, and in 30 years, when it will be my turn, there will certainly be an entirely different set of rules. However, I found that the advice regarding setting up a trust for your beneficiaries as opposed to solely relying on a will, and the discussion regarding long-term care policies, to be incredibly helpful and enlightening. This is a great book for anybody approaching retirement age to read so that they can more capably participate, along with their financial planner, in making the right decisions for their family.

You simply can't believe the mistakes people make because they did not take a little time to do some basic reading. This is written in the form of stories of some people who made these mistakes....mistakes any of us could make, and which many of us are currently making. If you read this, you will know how to avoid a lot of trouble. And it is not that difficult.

This is a good book, written to help those nearing retirement and in retirement from making mistakes, financial and otherwise. It should be read by adults who are nearing or just in retirement. They will find it helpful.

This is good common sense advice on preparing for retirement and then how to keep from falling into some of the traps that result in lost or diminished income. It did not answer all of my questions, but I did receive some good pointers.

Listened to it on the way to Mammoth to look at more condos. Guess we didn't learn anything. Two days after we came home a new condo came on the market and we made an offer sight unseen!
