Double Dippin' #3

Lipstick Hustla

Rate this book
From the bestselling author of Double Dippin’ and Big Juicy Lips — a feisty, self-starter takes her business to the top and fights for her man.
Blindsided by lust, Misty lost her business, her money, and all her possessions — and her man, Brick. More determined than ever to get her money right, she starts from scratch. Using the services of one reliable employee, she slowly rebuilds her escort service. Cash is starting to trickle in, but it’s not coming fast enough for Misty.
With a new crew working around the clock, Misty reclaims top diva status. Her world should be complete, but something is missing... she’s lonely for the love and undivided attention of Brick. She foolishly took him for granted, allowing him to slip from her grasp and into the clutches of another woman — her mother.
As far as Misty’s concerned, all is fair in love and war. There’s no limit to how far she will go to take back the man who’s rightfully hers.

I am a big fan of Allison Hobbs and her work, and she hasn't disappointed me yet...and I don't think she ever will. This book in my opinion is simply awesome. Even though I didn't read "Double Dippin" or "Big Juicey Lips" I could definitely envision Misty and Brick. And envision the history they had before in prior works. Allison has a way of using descriptive words to the point where you can picture the scene. She uses really graphic violence scenes that make you go DAMN! and the sex scenes are also HOT! Misty is one of those characters that you just love to hate because of all the messed up crap that she does to people. In the end she loses everything that to her she has accomplished. I seriously didn't want to see her go because I really was hoping that this would continue into a sequel but I really don't think it will. This book was definitely wicked and full of drama. She had me cracking up though with that ashy dude though. I will continue reading Allison's books. Forever a loyal fan!

Not What I Expected

Misty lost everything - her money, material possessions and her man. Using her skills of manipulation, she slowly rebuilds her business, with her number one victim, Troy, as her pawn. The money starts rolling in but not fast enough for Misty. She bounces from one scheme to another, all the while hoping to win back Brick's love.

As an Allison Hobbs’ fan, I didn't like the flow of this book. It was hard to stay focused on the story and not get bored. It seemed as if the main character was juggling too many balls at once. This was not one of my favorite Hobbs’ books, sad to say.

I was hooked on this book wondering how Misty was going to recover from her losses in the previous book. I was also sickened by the unrelenting greediness and seflishness that she lives by and whatever need she has will be fulfilled regardless how it will affect others. But it's that very thing that keeps me hooked.
There were a few surprises for me that make me definitely want to finish out the series. I'm not sure how those books will play themselves out but I can't wait to find out.

Somewhat Entertaining!!

Some questions answered, even more left unresolved. Then again, what do you expect when you embark upon a journey that encompasses five books. Some of the books are really good and others just okay. Here's hoping the final two installments are worth the time and effort.

Buy it, read it and enjoy.👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

Skip books 2&3. Just read the first one. Misty had absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever so when I tell you it took 3 books for karma to really catch up to get, believe me.

For about 30 seconds I wondered whodunit but then realized I didn't really care, was just glad someone finally did.

Misty is back and is shockingly worse than before. If you thought she treated others poorly and reeked havoc on people's lives in Double Dippin' and Big Juicy Lips: Double Dippin' 2 (Zane Presents), then you haven't seen anything yet. In Lipstick Hustla she has absolutely no regard for other people, and is only concerned with what others can do to benefit her. After being robbed blind in the previous installment, Misty is back at square one with her finances. This time though her cash cow Brick is no longer in her clutches, so she relies on pimping Troy, aka Ashy Cashy, out as much possible while she attempts to secure Brick once again.

Brick, Misty's ex-boyfriend, ex-prostitute, and ex-victim fell into the arms and heart of Tomasina, Misty' mother, after being kicked to the curb once Misty found a new man. Tomasina not only helped Brick heal his emotional scars, but even the large ruinous scar on his face. He is new, improved, and better than before so of course Misty can't resist wanting him back for purely abusive and selfish reasons. Watching her mother marry and have her baby brother by Brick did not deter Misty in the least, she is determined to regain her hold on him and disrespectfully puts her plan into motion in the hospital room after her mom gives birth. Brick is definitely a new man so getting her claws back into him will not be as easy as she anticipates.

Once Misty realizes that it will take some time to manipulate Brick into returning, she goes on the hunt for fresh meat. She finds young and sexy men to take advantage of and is soon exploiting their assets to the highest bidder. We watch her build her sordid sex empire from the ground up. She recruits studs from fast food joints, homeless shelters, and also takes them from right under other wacko's noses. As she spits game to these young men and sells them false dreams, you won't be able to wrap your head around Misty's hustle, she can sell ice to an Eskimo. To ensure the quality of sex she is slinging is up to par, she makes it her business to personally test the abilities of each one of her sex workers. As a stamp of approval, she has her lips tattooed on their bodies. Her meticulous and disturbing way of going about things turns out to be a gold mine when a celebrity requests her services. This connection with not only make her life full of all the pricey items she desires, but will eventually also break her business.

Misty is without a doubt the girl we HATE that we LOVE! As crazy as she is, I found myself unable to help wanting things to work in her favor. I noticed as well that I'd be upset with her at the people that cross her, as I am with a well behaved main character. Allison Hobbs did a great job of creating such an evil character that still has qualities that the readers root for. Misty has always been hell bent on getting exactly what she wants, no matter what the cost to person doing her dirty work. Living through ups and downs is nothing new to Misty, she has always dealt with this due to her scandalous ways, but karma just never seems to even the score with her. She has always ended back on top by using and abusing people. Will this third time be the charm? Besides being left hanging a bit by the twist in the end I think this novel was very mentally stimulating and entertaining beyond words.

I bought this book not realizing that I should have read DOUBLE DIPPIN' and BIG JUICY LIPS first. I didn't have any problem getting into this book though. It was easy to just pick it up and get hooked! I do plan on reading those other two books though to see how it all started!

Misty sure is something else. She always gets what she wants and doesn't care what she has to do to get it. She doesn't even realize how crazy she really is. She really gets her business going and will do anything to make more cash. She will use any man she can find for her "escort service" and will use him in any manner that she says. Brick sure had a tough decision to make at the end!

I loved this book and it kept me hooked and not wanting to stop reading until the end! I am a huge fan of Allison Hobbs and plan on reading every book that she has written eventually! If you have not read a book by Allison Hobbs, you are really missing out! It's not all about the sex either. Yeah, there is a lot of sex in this book that is like, WHOA!, let me read that part again, but it has a great story to go along with it.

I could not for the life of me get through this book. I stopped on page 147. I've been trying to finish this book since September 2012. I think I started reading it earlier than that. Idk. I absolutely love Allison Hobbs and all her books but the character Misty is a huge turn off for me. Her character is so stuck up and I can't seem to get past it. I loved the first couple books of the series and I plan on reading the latest one, Brick, even though I hate Misty. Haha Anyhow I just couldn't seem to get a steady reading flow in this book. Some people may feel differently but that's just my opinion. Maybe one day I'll finish it but as of right now I'm giving up on this one.

I must admit, once I begin reading one of these books, I have a hard time putting it down. As expected, each book gets more & more entertaining. Misty's signature tat is worn by her escorts. She increases her stable of escorts & finds new lifestyle contributors which includes a wealthy rapper. After Misty purchases her dream home & car, the unthinkable happens & she ends up in the worst predicament ever.

This was a really good read. Crazy, erotic, and sadness all balled up into one book! I love how Allison makes her characters so over the top crazy! Misty is a hustler playing a dangerous game. All due to being extremely greedy. Crazy book I didn't even know this was a sequel until Allison brought it to my attention. We are Facebook friends. Luckily the book was written in a way that you could easily read it as a stand alone and not be confused. I highly recommend it!

Lipstick Hustla is the third installment of the Double Dippin Series. After losing everything and hitting rock bottom, with the help of Ashy Cashy, her only worker, Misty managed to pull her self back on top once again. Unfortunately, it was a short lived victory. I highly recommend this series beginning with: Double Dippin, Big Juicy Lip, Lipstick Hustla,Brick, and Misty.

Double Dippin was a gritty read but the twins leading the story drew me in and I found myself invested in their lives and how they survived the foster system onward into adulthood. But not every book needs a sequel or spin off. Some things should be left alone. This is a prime example of that!

Sorry, Hobbs. Another miss for me.

Totally not what I expected...random sex, tripped out relationships & hard to follow storyline. Maybe I should have read the prior books but I didn't know the sequence. Giving Hobbs the benefit of the doubt with 3 stars.

This book was wicked and full of scandal but very fun to read. It had a surprising twist at the end which leads you to belive that the author could come out with a sequel.
