Forty-five year old erotic romance author Stacy Oppenheimer has always been an introvert, and her recent divorce has left her scared of her own shadow. But when her favorite cover model, Michael Moretti, corners her at a writers’ conference, she swallows her inhibitions for a moment and teases him a little.
Michael Moretti, age thirty-six, knows his career as a cover model and exotic dancer is rapidly coming to an end due to his age. He has his own reasons for attending this conference—find an attractive older woman who he can woo into keeping him in the lifestyle to which he’s become accustomed. Lovely Stacy Summers fits his requirements nicely.
With Michael’s help, Stacy begins to overcome her shyness and engages in some exciting activities both outside and inside the bedroom. But she’s nobody’s sugar mama, and she makes that clear to him when she finds out his ulterior motive. Too bad for Michael, who finds out he just might be in a little deeper than he thought
#1 New York Times, #1 USA Today, and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author Helen Hardt's passion for the written word began with the books her mother read to her at bedtime. She wrote her first story at age six and hasn’t stopped since. In addition to being an award winning author of contemporary and historical romance and erotica, she’s a mother, an attorney, a black belt in Taekwondo, a grammar geek, an appreciator of fine red wine, and a lover of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. She writes from her home in Colorado, where she lives with her family.
I’m rating this book as an erotic novel. Romance-wise, I’d give it two stars. Things progressed far too quickly for me to believe they were in love. In lust? Yeah, there was a heap of lust. The hero is unlikeable at first, and it was hard for me at times to believe his motives for wanting to be with the heroine were pure.
It’s a novella, so it’s a quick read. Despite it being a novella, the author managed to include a bit of background information on both of the main characters. The drama at the end of the book had me rolling my eyes, but I wasn’t expecting the great American novel when I chose this cougar fantasy.
This was silly, and so tropey that it wasn’t good. I don’t mind sticking to a formula but there was no imagination in this at all. I get it’s a short novella but geez... a little creativity please.
Not sure what to do with this author, has good ideas but the execution is lacking.
The synopsis of this book reads like every romance novelists secret dream!! So what happens when there truths come out? Can they stay together or is Michael’s deception to great for Stacy to forgive? Another amazing book by Helen Hardt!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I haven't read many older women/ younger men love stories so I would interested to see where this one would go. 45 year old erotic author Stacy meets hunky younger calendar man. She is very self-conscious and Michael is looking for someone to take care of him, a sugar mama.
They meet at a conference and Michael latches on to Stacy, dances with her, has a few drinks and then Stacy (shy and self conscious so she is written) thinks of one of her favorite characters to encourage her to move forward with a one night stand.
Within 24 hours together they fall in love and when Stacy learns of Michael's plot to get a sugar mama, she dissolves the relationship and leaves the conference. But, she can't get him off her mind.
Thinking to write a cougar book, she does some research online and meets other cougars who encourage her to at least hear his side of things. The book's twist at the end doesn't quite do it for me, because.... again.... They haven't really been together enough to really know each other's hearts and it is all just too rushed for my liking.
As much as I appreciate the effort on the author's part, this one just did not pull me in to the story.
Wow, I loved the first Cougar Chronicles book The Cowboy & the Cougar, and this one was just as good! I loved that Holly makes an appearance in this book as well as the chatroom that she had ventured into to learn about the lifestyle. You can not help but fall in love with Stacy and Michael individually and as a couple. Holly is strong and independent and does not take crap from anyone, she is willing to stand on her own two feet with no help. And when Michael shows up she does not take crap from him even after finding out her surprise she never expected. Loved this story, it is steamy, and hot, and keeps you on your toes wondering how will this story end. Will they stay together, will they break up, or what is going to happen?!?! Michael is a bad boy in his way but also has a soft heart and has had his heart broken in the past. It is a page-turner and I highly recommend it!
Another riveting short story by Helen Hardt. Calendar Boy is an emotional albeit very Steamy read! A erotic romance author with not as much experience as her characters meets a sexy cover model she's been ogling for a while now. Have what suppose to be a fling turn into more. Trouble and drama extinguishes their passion before they realize it and it's a battle of wills to resolve their problems. Absolutely amazing and heartwarming and even heartbreaking story. You'll love it!
Stacy, a romance writer and Michael, a model and dancer, met a book signing and confer in Denver. Stacy your classic introvert, hiding behind the characters she writes about. Michael, knowing, his career was ending, looking for anything but love. But after spending time together, love is what both ends up finding in each other.
This is a story I really have enjoyed. It made me smile as it reminds me of my own mother. She is married to a man 10 years younger than she is. She is happy in her life too. This book had me realizing that love can happen at any age. A great read and hope you all enjoy it as much as I have.
This was a really good book. Loved the storyline as it pertains to my life of marrying a man 7 yrs younger but I have him till I turned 40 to get me pregnant. We have a wonderful son now of 22 yrs old.
After the first cougar bookI was disappointed. Not much story. But this book is more Helen’s story telling style. I liked Stacey ad her Finding herself. . I likedThat Michael’s real self emerged after so much tragedy and fear of live. 2 lost souls found happiness
Stacy was quite the introvert for a romance writer. Having even less self esteem after her failed miserable marriage, all she had was her books...until she met younger model Michael at a book convention...
I love any book that Helen Hardt writes, and this book was no exception. Delightfully steamy, sexy, and about a woman closer to my age. A very sweet story that I have read several times.
This series was awesome! I so enjoyed these books! Hope Helen Hardt can make more of these cougar and cub books! Great writing and very enjoyable! Must read!!’
I freakin love this book. Boy Helen sure does know how to write. I found myself reading through this book and not putting it down once. I really love how she makes me feel like I'm right there in the story with the characters. And boy do I love me some Michael and Stacy. Very hot reading here. Keep em coming Helen.
