Surveying every biblical reference to childhood, Zuck enables educators and parents to grasp their implications for children's physical, emotional, social, and spiritual development.
Roy B. Zuck (ThD, Dallas Theological Seminary) is senior professor emeritus of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary where has been teaching for the past 23 years. He has also served as vice president for Academic Affairs and academic dean. Dr. Zuck's ministry is noted for clear exposition of Scripture with emphasis on application of the Bible to life. He is the author or editor of more than 90 books, has written scores of articles, and has long served as editor of Bibliotheca Sacra.
Despite the title, which could sound a little like a fluffy Bible study on the topic, this is actually a substantial and fairly sophisticated work. Biblically-based, also well-researched and documented with extensive footnotes and sources. Keep in mind that Zuck has a very conservative, Baptist-oriented perspective. This is a helpful reference work for pastors and church educators.
Excellent, thoroughly biblical overview of what the Bible has to say about children. So much of what passes for theological reflection on children comes from warm-hearted, fuzzy-minded educators and not from biblically grounded theologians.
