"Prophecy reveals the mind and heart of God to his people. It encourages, exhorts and comforts. It helps to build the church; to build a closeness between God and his people; and also between one another. It stimulates and encourages people to be better than they are before God. It comforts and shows the tenderness of God's heart in our distress. It keeps us moving forward under fire. It helps to produce real men and women of God who will pay the price to be in the forefront of all that God is doing." ~ Graham Cooke, Developing Your Prophetic Gifting, Page 263-264.

Really enjoyed this book. You can tell when you read this book that you are learning from a mature prophet of God who has been operating in the gift for sometime now and he is teaching the benefits and pitfalls that can happen when the gift of prophecy is exercised.

I think this is a must read for anyone who is operating in the gift of prophecy or feels a call into the prophetic.

I think this book should be read by every church that acknowledges and accepts the prophetic call of God.

Be eager to prophecy. (See 1 Corinthians 14:39)

The first half of the book was very good. It provides the biblical perspective on prophecy, moving within a prophetic gifting, and responding to prophetic words spoken to you or over your church. It stresses the importance of those operating in the prophetic gifting being under authority and elaborates on the necessity to carefully weigh prophetic words against scriptures and the nature of God.If the book ended there, it would be a great book. However, it continues and that's where it becomes redundant. It turns into a very long read without much additional value or benefit. With that said, I'd still recommend this book because the first half is more than worth the investment of time / resources.

I thought this book was very insightful. There were a lot of suggestions that I wasn't aware of as it relates to the prophetic ministry. If most of these things were enacted on a regular basis maybe there will not be such a disdain of the prpphetic today. Accountability and Integrity need to be brought back to the prophetic and intercession ministries.

This is a slower book, but very beneficial. We all have prophetic gifts. This helps determine them.
Graham Cooke is a wonderful writer and speaker!
