Just way too many words without showing what on earth the author is doing. Also doesn't help that the book was written 41 years ago. There are lots of updates to the world since and the book doesn't really reflect that. The author is no longer alive and nobody has taken up the task to update it. So that's sad.
But it DOES have some useful advice that's timeless. Just bits and pieces. But nothing you couldn't get from a youtube video today.
Very nice, short, concise and basic guide to most methods of propagation. I can't offer much more than that but it's very nice for what it has to offer. It does not cover anything on cell propagation/tissue propagation, which to be fair is not something most hobbybists/gardeners are interested in.
An excellent reference. I have referred to it many times over the years and never found it lacking. Lots of how to info with step by step illustrations. Not esoteric, this is stuff you can do at home. Plus a list of plants in the back with quick tips on pro gating each one.
