Juan Tamariz (Madrid, 18 de octubre de 1942 - 18 de agosto de 2026) fue un legendario ilusionista español, ampliamente considerado uno de los mejores magos de la historia y el mayor exponente mundial de la cartomagia y la magia de cerca. Revolucionó el arte de la magia combinando una técnica matemática e impecable con un humor caótico, cercano y un estilo bohemio inconfundible.
En 1973 obtuvo el Primer Premio Mundial de Cartomagia en el Congreso FISM de París, catapultando la magia española a la cumbre internacional. Fundó, junto a otros ilusionistas, la Escuela Mágica de Madrid, desarrollando la teoría de la psicología y la sutileza aplicadas al engaño.
Autor de libros fundamentales para profesionales como La Vía Mágica y Los Cinco Puntos Mágicos, sus textos son objeto de estudio obligatorio para magos de todo el mundo.
Se convirtió en un rostro sumamente popular y querido en España y Latinoamérica gracias a sus apariciones en programas de televisión, donde popularizó su icónica celebración imitando tocar un "violín imaginario".
