As if he wasn’t going to be an overbearing and possibly abusive husband. No happy ever after in her future that I can see.

Beautiful, auburn-haired Miss Therése "Tessa" Strahan passionately loved her native Scotland and had only scorn for England and all things English. But now she had to go to England to live. Even worse, she had to find an English husband. And, worst of all, the man who would take her there was Nicholas Steele, the Marquess of Kerne, the most handsome and infamous rake in the realm - the man Tessa reviled. The struggle between them started when the monstrous marquess insisted on treating Tessa like a schoolgirl to be tamed in ladylike deportment. But their battle of wits and wills touched on real peril when he began to treat her like a woman.

Well, act like an under-educated, rude, brattish, schoolgirl, get treated like one. I rather liked Nick's forbearance in dealing with this ridiculous child, & she certainly deserved a spanking. I enjoyed their trip from Scotland to England, although things got a bit melodramatic when Sir Giles entered the picture. I generally dislike heroines who act atrociously and expect heroes to be polite & gentlemanly in the face of their outrageous actions that put them in dangerous situations, however, I did find this an easy & fun read, overall.
