I really liked this story. I love the characters, absolutely love them. And the stories in this series are so interesting, but I felt like this one was too short. Scott jumps ahead in the story several times, bypassing seemingly important events to describe them in the past tense and move the story along. At times, however, I was left wishing that she had included the actual scenes/events in the book. Likewise, when Sienna announces her love for Cody (twice) I felt like the situation(s) were dealt with and resolved too quickly, bypassing what could have been some really interesting drama. Not that I expected Cody to waffle over his feelings for Jules, but some sort of drama lasting beyond two pages would have been nice.
Still, I love Scott's irreverent characters and dialogue, and I am enjoying this series immensely. Some much, I guess, that I wish she'd drawn it out a bit more.

I absolutely loved this book! There were a couple of grammar bugaboos, but it didn't really matter. Jules is funny, independent and seems like a person I would love to meet. I see myself buying some of the treats she makes in her bakery. And Cody ... what can I say about Cody? He has a special place in my heart because he reminds me of the hero of my e-book, "Mr. Short, Dark...& Funny," not in looks but in his actions. Except for the part where Cody keeps things bottled up inside, that reminds me of the hero of "Sweeter Than W(h)ine." I love the secondaries (Aunt Tulip, Midge, etc.) and wanted to cause bodily harm to Jacques and Sienna.
I liked this book better than the first in the series -- if you haven't read it yet, get a copy. You won't be sorry!
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. If you look past the corny cover, it was pretty good. The witty comments between the Cody and Jules. I also think Cody's pet name for Jules, JuJu Bee, is so freaking adorable. I wish my husband would be that cute.
I love how Cody knows Jules so well. He knows when she is stressed out and what she needs and offers his unyielding support. I also enjoyed how Jules tried to make Cody feel better about his insecurities about a certain body part he always tries to keep covered.
If you are looking for a light read this would be a good option. I think it can be read by itself or in the series. I am looking forward to to reading the next book. :)
Spunky pastry chef, Jules and sexy Sweet Man Cody have each suffered heartache and sadness. But when Jules lands a huge catering gig with the Cruz family, Nashville's upper echelon, she learns that even though people let you down, family and friends have your back. And even though Cody' s heartache was caused by the Cruz family, specifically Sienna Cruz, his ex fiance, he steps right up to the plate for Jules. Together Jules and Cody realize that they can love again. A fun, quirky read with great characters who will make you laugh and cry, but mostly laugh! I really enjoyed book two of this series.
The real reality of it is, it is a great effort, but the author is trying too hard. When the reader falls in love with the supporting cast instead of the lead characters, there is a problem either with the story or with character development.
When I procured my copy, it was riddled with typographical errors - one of the many problems in the wild and wonderful world of self-publishing.
The author has talent, no doubt. I would be curious to read her offerings in a couple of years after she has truly developed her voice.
This is the second in a series. I enjoyed the first book, but I think this one is better. I like the fact the women characters are not weak, depending on someone else or just a barbie doll type. Good read.
First in the series was better; again this one was redundant as the first one. I don't need to be told in every chapter how scared two people are to committing a relationship.
