A Springtime Duel

A Springtime Duel

Rate this book
Once upon a time, Tarin Morris was a prized, pretty thing. As a slave in the harems of some of the wealthiest and cruelest men it was only his looks and willingness to obey that mattered. Now as a free man, Tarin lives by selling his skills with a sword to the same wealthy men that once owned him. He fights their petty duels of honor when they'd not risk their lives or sully their hands.

Only as an early spring duel goes awry, his life starts to unravel and his life will never again be the same as it once was...

WARNING: This story does NOT contain explicit slash. It DOES contain hints of heterosexuality, but this story is essential as the introduction to the next, which WILL contain slashy goodness!

So, ya wanted to know about me... well, nothing to know! I'm from a quiet Penn Dutch area with my husband, a herd of dogs, and WAY too many cats.

The husband and I work for ourselves, no money in it but better than 9 to 5 for some other idiots, and it leaves me time to write. Which, I'm told, is a very good thing.

I recently subscribed to S.A. Payne's website and have been running through her books like mad. Why? Because they are all truly original and the world-building is great. So many authors get stuck on a single trope, but each of her books is completely different from the next. This one, as the warning advised, had no slash - I know, I know, no smut and I still read it? shocking! - but it was unique and I loved it. For the record, I did also enjoy the slashy sequel :)
