Rate this book
Six strategies for beating cancer from a recovered "hopeless case". I'm always looking to learn from people who have conquered cancer, for the sake of a family member. I read this book, then found on the internet that Anne Frahm, the author's wife and subject of the book, had passed away about 10 years after she had rallied back from the brink of death. She was an incredibly courageous woman. She had undergone everything imaginable in her fight against cancer, and was given no more hope. She started her own more holistic battle plan and regained her health. Though she ultimately lost her battle with cancer after 10 years of renewed health, I don't think the wisdom in what she did to rally back can be discounted. It was a very good book.

This book opened my eyes to the fact that the human body is capable of healing itself-if taken care of properly! It's an absolute cancer success story written by a woman who had exhausted all of the medical options that were available to her and was basically sent home and told to enjoy the few days she had left. She decided that she wasn't really content with her prognosis, and with the help of a nutritionist and strength of will, became completely cancer free within a matter of months.

Hard to get through the first chapter, especially for someone who is facing a stem cell transplant themselves. She describes her experience in detail. The rest of the book is just fantastic with ideas. It's a short read with a LOT of good information. Get past the first chapter and you'll have some great information for your anti-cancer arsenal.

I was diagnosed with cancer on October 12, 1996. My sister knew I'd need books. She found this book and gave it to me. It was the first book I read as a cancer patient, and it was the best of the books I read about fighting cancer from that day onward.

Anne Frahm and David Frahm have written a clear, concise and supportive book for anyone dealing with cancer, survived cancer, or knowing someone who is dealing with cancer. I read the book because I am 4 years a survivor of breast cancer and I am interested to learn as much as I can of what to do to prevent it from returning or another cancer developing. The suggestions in this book make sense, though some of her methods are extreme, they made sense for her dealing with the degree of cancer she was dealing with. I especially appreciated her clear explanations of why she felt this treatment was helpful. I'm more motivated to do something uncomfortable or unpleasant if I know why it's helping. The information in this book as motivated me to make some healthier changes in my diet and life style. I recommend this book to anyone dealing with or knowing someone dealing with cancer.

This book is probably really helpful for those diagnosed with terminal cancer. The author changed her eating habits, exercise habits and highly praises at-home enemas (not pleasant to read about). However, reading this book made me feel like everyone eating the standard American diet (or anyone was fed that by unsuspecting parents while growing up) is a walking time bomb. I had to quit this book after I looked up Anne Frahm online and found out that she did die from cancer, less than 6 years after this book was written. That was just way too depressing for me to handle right now. Maybe someday I'll pick up where I left off, but for now, it's going back on the shelf.

While I applaud the author (Anne Frahm) for her courage in her battle with cancer, I didn't find this book to be particularly helpful. Basically, it advocates a mostly raw foods lifestyle and focuses on how nutrition changed the course of her life. She had been diagnosed as having metastatic breast cancer, which was considered incurable after the chemo and radiation treatments that she endured failed to help her. According to her story, she turned to nutrition as a last hope and followed a strict dietary regimen over the course of five weeks - after which her disease disappeared.

Whow! This book was written by a young lady, who was given up to die, by the medical field - and sent home, and given only a few days to live.

She lived and shared her story in this book!

If you have health problems, I encourage you to read her book. It will give you strength to believe in miracles.

I think I can incorporate a lot of what the authors are recommending into my daily diet and lifestyle...in fact, much of it I already do. However, a juice fast AND enemas?! Not sure I could do it. And her vegetarian recipes at the back of the book do not sound appealing at all. I would rather just chug down my quart of green smoothie a day.

A cancer Battle Plan Sourcebook is much better. But I wouldn't follow everything in it, I would check with your doctor before starting any juice fasting or supplements (herbal or vitamin). They could interfere with treatment. Don't assume!!!
