Not something to sit down and read, but an excellent travel resource when traveling the USA. Leads travelers to out-of-the ordinary, very interesting factory tours. From cheese in Oregon, to Mardi Gras floats in New Orleans, and from Tabasco Sauce to Corvettes, Watch It Made in the USA gives readers tour information and contacts. We research using it before we leave, and we carry it with us on the road.

I would let someone borrow this book, but I want to keep it. It is a guide to factory tours in the US--totally cool!

Some people are awed by fast-moving bottling machines and fascinated by robotic welders or giant presses, while others appreciate the artisanship of a glassblower, woodworker, or potter.

-The narrative description will help you determine which tours you and your family will enjoy.

As my wife and I have recently considered traveling in the United States, as we have fulfilled other realities first, I came across this book and became intrigued.

Briefly, a few places I found that may fit our hopeful travels:

Mid-Atlantic:
Baltimore Museum of Industry, MD
Edison National Historic Site, NJ
The Crayola Factory, PA
Cannondale, PA
Hope Acres, PA
Martin Guitar, PA
...Heinz Pittsburgh Regional History Center, PA
Wendell August Forge, PA
Williamsburg Pottery Factory, VA
Fenton Art Glass, WV
New York left out for a later trip, possibly, and therefore later research.

Pacific Northwest:
Rodger's Instruments, OR
Tillamook Cheese, OR
Wayerhaeuser, Springfield OR
Boeing, The Future of Flight, WA
Liberty Orchards, WA
Microsoft Visitor Center, WA
Pelindaba Lavendar Farm, WA
(What about that lavendar farm in Utah that I drove by? It's not in here.)

Northern California:
Blue Ox Millworks and Historic Park, Eureka
Boudin Bakery, SF
Intel Museum, Santa Rosa
Guide Dogs for the Blind, San Rafael
Levi Strauss & Co.
Sutter Gold Mine
Jelly Belly

Southern California:
Borax Visitor Center, Boron

Great Lakes:
John Deere Pavillion, IL
KitchenAid, OH
and probably others

An excellent book for your travel library. One caution though - always call ahead to be sure that the tours are still available.
