Cassandra's Curse

Rate this book
When Summer Lentz vanishes from a high school party in the fall of 1999, the town of Kanaranzi Creek is thrown into chaos once the trail runs cold. As the new girl in town, Becca Thompson is cursed by her dreams of the dead, including the ghost of Summer Lentz. Unable to control or understand her dreams, Becca tries to discover how Summer died while also trying to avoid becoming the next victim of Summer's killer. But with only dreams as her guide, will anyone believe Becca?

Cassandra's Curse introduces the readers to two important characters in the Kanaranzi Creek Summer Lentz and Becca Thompson. While these two kindred spirits never meet in life, their destinies are tied together by the darkness that surrounds Lake Kanaranzi. As an allegorical retelling of the myth of Cassandra, both Summer and Becca play the part of the prophetess that could see the future but was cursed by having no one believe her.

Jason Lee Willis is the author of The Alchemist's Map, best described as 'a Bilbo Baggins character who goes on an Indiana Jones adventure in 19th century Minnesota', as well as several other self-published novels. He has also produced two nonfiction works on Christian Bible studies. As a creative writing instructor, he and his students have produced two volumes of short stories, Tales from the Haunted Valley, as a fundraiser for the writing program. As a professional storyteller (isn’t that what English teachers do?), he’s done historical lectures and video series, book talks, radio segments, podcasts, and recently submitted a short story in Rhonda Gilliland’s “foodie” anthology, Cooked to Death.

Willis grew up in South Dakota and currently lives in Minnesota, where he lives the life of a hobbit by gardening, writing, walking around barefoot, wearing vests, fishing, and going on adventures with his wife, Julie.
