After Reading:
Evercrossed is filled with hesitation, nostalgia, and agitation.
You'll find yourself excited by what is unexpected, the trill of the another burden mystery spree [is there any such word?], and the aghast by the fact that you'll have to wait long to have the next book.
The only small flaws are the book has a lot of words but less action and the wrap ups of the book.
I feel I just start reading it though its already the last page. *sigh!

Okay, show of hands.
How many people read this book because they COULDN'T FLIPPIN WAIT AND WAS JUST SOOO EXCITED?
How many people read this because they saw it in the store, and was like "There's a fourth one? Hmmmm"?
How many just read this book because it was available to them free through Simon & Schuster's galley grab?
I was the latter. I read the original trilogy a couple years back and I was largely unimpressed. I thought it kind of cliched and melodramatic. I also am not a big fan of Chandler's writing style, which is very similar to L.J. Smith's in that it is very impersonal and dated. Perhaps if I was teen in the 90's I would have loved these books, but there is much deeper and richer paranormal fiction that has been published since then, and the original trilogy pales in comparison.
This new installment is much of the same. Chandler's writing has not evolved much. The gap was only one year for her characters, ten years for her readers. In the original trilogy, there were no cell phones and no GPS, but in attempt to make her work seem more modern, Chandler lays on the technological references so much that it seemed unnatural and not intrinsic to the story.
I see no reason for why this story was continued. It was over and done with no impending loose ends or cliff hangers to prompt its continuation. Perhaps it is the success of the re-publication of the first three books that prompted it.
Ivy still is kind of obnoxious, the little goody-two-shoes that she is. She was perfect, soooooo kind and soooo beautiful, that it is hard to identify with her. Too perfect in that she is boring. I am not friends with boring people in real life. I like my friends loud, obnoxious, and interesting. In real life, Ivy and I would not be friends.
And I feel bad for Will, her current boyfriend, because it is obvious to everyone that she is leading him on. For some reason, Ivy cannot get over the death of her late boyfriend, Tristan, who died over a year before (in their universe at least) in a horrific intentional accident, which is a stupendous oxymoron. Wasn't the whole point of the first three books for Ivy and Tristan to find their closure? If its was closed, why did Chandler feel the need to open it back up? Leave the scab alone, woman. We don't want to see this bloody, puss-filled mess again.
Like I said, much of the same. Ivy is confused and pining, Beth (did Chandler name her after herself) does her psychic stuff, Will kind of follows Ivy around, there are new, frivolous characters that act as filler, there is a new mysterious guy; Tristan is missing, he doesn't get his own page time, and Lacey is kind of irrelevant but pops into the novel whenever she feels the need. It was an obvious filler installment, with a (painful to some) cliffhanger, and more loose ends than a chewed-up rug.
Unnecessary. If you really liked the original Kissed by an Angel trilogy, you'll probably like this one. If you didn't particularly care for the original trilogy, or would like to leave it as is, then you are not missing much.

Sigh. I LOVE Ivy and Tristan! However, I was really disappointed
by the ever so blatant cliffhanger. I always feel like it's a cheap
trick and a lame way of ensuring another book. :( While it's nice
to come back to characters that are known and loved, the original
trilogy is almost two decades old...so why come back to them now? I
found the updating of them to present day time rather jarring and it
took away from the story for me. I just don't get it. So like I
said, it was okay but the original trilogy can't be beat...even if
the author stayed the same.

It's been a year since Gregory has been put in his rightful place and Tristan can finally find peace, leaving Ivy in the comforts of her family and her boyfriend, Will. But the anniversary of Tristan death brings longing memories for Ivy and she can't stop thinking about him. After a terrible accident that kills Ivy, she sees Tristan again and gives her the kiss of life, that may have put his soul in jeopardy. But another spirits has escaped the past, putting Ivy in even more danger, only this time Tristan might not be enough to save her...
Elizabeth Chandler has once again brought mystery, entertainment and intrigue in her forth (surprising) installment in the Kissed by an Angel series. I didn't even know that there was a forth book in the works, so this was a great treat!
It was so awesome to see these characters once again!
Ivy has tried to put on a brave front this last year without Tristan, but inside she's a bubbling mess, her memories and love for Tristan is very bittersweet, the lost has left her in so much doubt even after all this time. Apart of me almost wanted her to let it go since it was so frustrating to see her push away the people who love her. I wasn't sure if I should trust her judgment concerning Guy, or think she was just delusional from grief and desperation. Very conflicting stuff, but in the end everything becomes quite clear. Still, I felt badly for Will part in all of this, he really is competing over a dead man and I don't think he deserves that after everything he's done for Ivy.
Tristan has always been one of my favorite Angels. He and Ivy have this overwhelming all consuming love that not even death can break. Beautiful!
It was fun to see Lacey again, she's still up to her eccentric ways and hope that we still get to see her in upcoming books.
Yup, that's right, I'm pretty sure Chandler isn't done yet with these characters since the ending left off with a cliffy and a lot of questions still lingered. I'm liking the new plot-line and can't wait to see what she has planned for these characters next!
Just a friendly warning though...If your a fan of the Kissed by an Angle series, you should really enjoy this exciting gem, but if you didn't like the books before, your not going to like it now.

Overall, I really enjoyed Evercrossed! It's filled with a clever mystery, conflicting characters and a touching love story.
So excited about where these books are going!

I don't know if it is actually fair for me to write a review on this book as I didn't even finish it but I still wanted to write my thoughts on it.
I was so excited to read this book. I absolutely adored the beginning of this series and was really looking forward to another book about Ivy, Tristan and Will.
However,
I hated it! I know hate is a strong word and I've never said I hate a book before in my life, if I didn't like it I've always said it's not my thing but then again I have never ever not finished a book. But I actually cannot bare to read any more.
I think the beginning of the series was amazing, it was beautiful and heartfelt and I loved Ivy and Tristan and was heartbroken when he died. The end of book 3 in this series was to show the readers that after death those who were left behind life goes on and they have to get closure. I adored that ending. I loved it. Tristan moved on to the afterlife and Ivy was falling in love with Will. To me that was perfect. Will is the sweetest guy ever and I honestly think that they belonged together. I didn't feel like a fourth book was necessary.
There was a perfect ending that any reader would be happy with and then Evercrossed was wrote. I think it's completely unnecessary and that it has been wrote for the sake of making more money on a popular storyline rather than writing it because the characters or plot needs it.
I can't finish this book because if I do I can honestly see me having a lower opinion of the original story and I loved them so much.
To me the end of this series was with book 3 and I will not be reading any more kissed by an angel books, my perfect ending already happened and I won't suffer through something that will not add to the storyline in any way.

I had no idea that Elizabeth Chandler was writing a sequel for Kissed By An Angel. I randomly saw Evercrossed on Borders.com one day and flipped out. I automatically became so happy I couldn't stand it while in school (I saw it in computer class) and for the rest of the day I assaulted my friends with "OMG THERES A SEQUEL" and they all thought I'd lost it.
Anywho, so I requested it from my library ASAP and got it a few days later. I read it in one day. It was AMAZING. I remember when reading Kissed By An Angel I cried all the time. It was so touching and I felt like I was in love with Tristan. When he died I just cried my eyes out. The sequel is even better. In a way it was more touching because I still felt the ache for Tristan. It's like I'm in love with him, I lost him, and I'm feeling the memories as Ivy feels them. I was so confused at the end. The way it twisted and how it ended. I can't wait. There has to be another. It can't just end like that. *Shakes a fist at Elizabeth Chandler*
I have now read every book written by Elizabeth Chandler. I've read all her Dark Secrets and now her Kissed By An Angel series. Id reccomend her to anyone. Any age. Any gender. Any where. Anytime. :)

This was not good lmao. The first three were also not great, but they were at least fun and enjoyable. I’m not really sure why the author decided to write three more books over fifteen years later, especially since the trilogy had a good ending that left no questions.
Evercrossed is full of so many unbelievable things all at once. It feels like the author was desperate for money. That being said, I will be reading the next book.

Judged by Cover: I love it
As this is the fourth book in the Kissed by an Angel series, as soon as I saw the cover I knew I was going to love it. It has symbolic value that you understand once you've finished the book.
What's up?
In Evercrossed Ivy Lyons is helping her best friend, Beth, at her aunts B'n'B. Simple right? The thing is the anniversary of her boyfriend's, Tristan, death is approaching. Here's the catch. Tristan was murdered by Ivy's stepbrother, Gregory, in a car accident. Gregory was aiming for Ivy. Not Tristan. And Tristan knows this, when he comes back as an angel to protect Ivy. Once Gregory died and Ivy was safe, Tristan had to leave (see first 3 books of the series to know more). When Ivy is helping Beth they get into a car accident. Ivy dies. But Tristan breathes life back into her with the Kiss of Life. This is illegal for an angel to do. Tristan's in trouble. And Ivy's friends think she insane when she tells them that Tristan saved her life.
Time of Day: Possibly
Ivy's nice. I like her a lot. If I saw her at the mall I might talk her, might not. At some points in the book she kind of scared me. I still love the character though.
Head Over Heels: 8
Ivy, throughout the book, fell in love with 2/3 people. Honestly that parts still kind of fuzzy to me. But this book was, for me anyway, a simple love story with sharp turns and never a dead end. A couple of car crashes though… It's probably the best love story I've read in a while. The whole Angel thing really made it better though.
Bonus Features: Simple Love Story
It has twists. That's what makes it so good. It wasn't one of those 'I love you, I love you too, Let's get married, Okay.' kind of books. The relationships had ups and downs. Mostly downs… I love this book so much.

The way the angels came into the story is one of the reasons why I love it. The angels weren't interpreted the way the normally are. For one thing, they didn't have wings. Or play harps and sing. (Ignore the picture it's the only one I could find.) The angels were just kind of there. Or not there. Who knows. We can't see them unless they want us to. ;P
Final Flavor: Like a piece of chocolate
So again, a simple love story… If you like a simple love story, read this. Romance. Romance. Romance. I love it. I want Juffii to read this but she doesn't do the whole 'Romance' thing. But I still think she'd like it. Elizabeth Chandler couldn't have done a more perfect job on this book. The only thing that annoyed me was… well… nothing! I loved it until the end!

OMG....que puedo decir.... cada final en vez de ser mas esclarecedor revuelve todo mas y mas....
Cuando estaba tratando de asimilar que Tristán se había ido.... y que ya no había mas peligro... todo se vuelve a complicar...!!
Los demonios vuelven, aquellos capaces de hacer daños aún siguen rondando y el peligro es cada vez mayor.
Entre medio de todo esto, Ivy intenta retomar su vida con Will, pero los dos saben que por mas amor que haya no podrán superar a Tristán! Y cuando pensé que ya no me podía sorprender mas, llega Guy y zas! cambia todo...
Si no hubiera sido por ese final, realmente hubiera odiado a Ivy. Muchas veces creí que ella, mas allá de todo lo que se que ama a Tris, y de lo que sufre por el, no merecía su amor. Desde que murió Tris, por mas amor que haya habido entre ellos ella estuvo con Gregory, Will, Guy.... al final, me estaba volviendo loca... agradezco que tenga todo una explicación... sino no habríamos terminado en buenos términos....
Que puedo decir, espero leer el 5to libro con muchas ansias, ya quiero saber que va a pasar finalmente con todo este embrollo, y recemosle a los ángeles para que existan un final feliz para cada uno de ellos....

Si no hubiera sido por ese final, realmente hubiera odiado a Ivy. Muchas veces creí que ella, mas allá de todo lo que se que ama a Tris, y de lo que sufre por el, no merecía su amor. Desde que murió Tris, por mas amor que haya habido entre ellos ella estuvo con Gregory, Will, Guy.... al final, me estaba volviendo loca... agradezco que tenga todo una explicación... sino no habríamos terminado en buenos términos....
Que puedo decir, espero leer el 5to libro con muchas ansias, ya quiero saber que va a pasar finalmente con todo este embrollo, y recemosle a los ángeles para que existan un final feliz para cada uno de ellos....

IRP BOOK REVIEW
The novel "Evercrossed" by Elizabeth Chandler is about a teenager named Ivy Lyons from New England. After a hectic school year, with the death of her boyfriend, Tristan, and her stepbrother who caused Tristan's death, Ivy just wanted a normal Summer break. All seems to be going well for the first part of the summer: a good job, pleasant friends and an amazing new boyfriend. But everything takes a turn for the worse after Ivy dies in a car crash. As she dies, she sees Tristan and he kisses her, telling her its not her time to go. She wakes up next to a mysterious stranger in the hospital. She is strangely attracted to this boy. He has amnesia, so Ivy calls him Guy. She helps him escape the hospital and get on his feet, all the while pushing her friends and boyfriend away. Her best friend and boyfriend, Beth and Will don't trust Guy. They sense that Jeremy, Ivy's stepbrother, has returned and has put himself into Guy. Ivy thinks its Tristan. Ivy leaves Will and Beth behind to follow Guy. Will looks into Guy, searching into missing person reports and discovers that he is a wanted criminal, for killing his girlfriend. Guy is immediately captured by the police, but not after he tells Ivy he is Tristan. Ivy cant believe it, Because Beth just said that he was Jeremy. Guy escapes from the police and stays in hiding, leaving Ivy to wonder who is Tristan in, and who is Jeremy in.
I thought that this book was beautifully written, for a YA novel. It did lack some support in some parts, but I love the story, it is really sweet. It had some really great messages about belief and spirituality. And most of all it told you that love never dies. I would recommend this book to romantic fantasy novel lovers or to girls that read YA novels.
I would give it a 5 out of 5, if compared to YA novels, but in general a 3.5 out of 5, mostly due to errors in over all plot structure and detail. It is my least favorite book in the series, but not the worst book ever.

I adore, absolutely adore the Kissed by an Angel series, and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book! I honestly thought the series ended perfectly, so I was curious to see how Chandler would spin this new addition. I had faith though. I love all her books—the mystery, suspense, and wonderful characters. I’m happy to report; I was not let down by the fourth book. Ivy is such a great character. She encapsulates what being young is all about, while at the same time showing tremendous growth toward becoming independent. She’s gone through so much in such a short time, and having Tristan come back to her, if only for a moment, is almost too much for her to bear (for me too). After Tristan gives her the kiss of life, things start to spin out of control for Ivy. And her relationship with Will becomes shaky. Tristan is always on her mind, and she is starting to believe he’s come back to earth to be with her. But after a séance-gone-wrong, Tristan might not be the one who’s come for Ivy after all. Ahhhh, I can’t give anything away, but just know that the twists and turns that Chandler is so famous for, will have you teetering on the edge. And even when you think you’ve figured it out, BAM, think again. I love a great twist! The new lead guy—giving Will a run for his money—Guy, brings in some new hotness, and really adds to Ivy’s confusion. Beth at times drove me a little crazy. She seemed to get very possessive and a bit nag-y in this book, but she comes through at the end. My only complaint is the major cliffhanger at the end! I kept scrolling down, desperate for another chapter. I still love all the characters from the first books, and they stayed true in the fourth. With action, romance, suspense and drama, this story was just simply amazing!

They’ve both moved on, or at least thats what they all think—Tristan to the other side of the afterlife, and Ivy to sweet Will. Now Ivy’s heading to Cape Cod, hoping to leave the horror of last summer behind. She wants nothing more than to lie on the beach, sip lemonade, and hang out with her friends. But then a car crash ends Ivy’s life.
As she floats to the beyond, looking down on the life she’s left behind, Tristan breathes life back into her with a passionate kiss. She wakes up in the hospital, surrounded by Will and her family, but all she can think about is the love that she lost. She told her little brother about what she thought happen to her in the accident, her brother did believed because he has been communicating with another girl who died last year also. I was so shocked to find out there was another book! I thought Kissed by an Angel was just a stand alone. This book was good, not as good as the first but still really good. It was pretty freaky though.

“Remembering can be as painful as not remembering,”
Okay, when I first read this years ago, I must not have noticed the huge jump from no electronics to having Iphones/cellphones or whatever. However, I noticed it this time, and to be honest, it threw me off a bit. I was sitting there trying to recall if I read about them in the first three. It's not a deal breaker for me, it's just that it took getting used to seeing that book three and four are only set a year apart, but there was a long time without having a fourth book.
Sometimes the hardest thing to do was wait until another person decided to trust you.
ANYWHO, this book takes place a year after everything was resolved in book three. It starts with Will, Beth, and Ivy spending the summer before college working at Aunt Cindy's Seabright Inn with Kelsey(Beth's cousin) and her friend, Dhanya, in exchange for close access to the beach and a place to stay. Right off the bat, we can see how terribly wrong this summer is going to go by the fact that Ivy and Beth agreed to playing with a Ouija board with the other two. Hello, Gregory, how nice it is to see you again... not. Shortly after, Beth and Ivy are having to drive to pick up Kelsey and Dhanya who are smashed , but don't quite make it when they end up crashing. Hello, Tristan, it actually is nice to see you again, but boy, what are you doin'?? I'm not going to say much more about the book, because- what's the fun in giving it all away? I enjoyed reading it, and look forward to the next two books (which I haven't ever read so... fingers crossed!)... however, some parts of it had me feeling like, "c'mon, what's the hold up here?"

Overall, I liked it, I just hope by the end of the series, Ivy and Tristan end up okay annnnnndddd I want Beth and Will together.

Well, those were my thoughts when I read this book two years ago. A
three sentence review. It's hard to believe that back then, that's all I had to say about this book. But then again, this book (which is the fourth book in the series) was the first book I read. I remembered that after reading this book I felt compelled to go back and start at the beginning. That was one of the best choices I've made. This book is enjoyable even if you've read it out of order, but it's sooooooo much more enjoyable when you've read the first three books. I am now familiar with the characters and fully invested in this story.
TL;DR: Two years have passed and this book is still worth five stars in my eyes.
Evercrossed picks up a year after Tristan's death. Tristan has finally moved on to the afterlife (which means he can no longer contact Ivy or anyone else), and Ivy has moved on to Will.
Ivy and a couple of her friends are on their last summer vacation with each other, before they start college. All seems well until one night Ivy gets in a car crash that ultimately ends her life. But keeping his promise, even in death, Tristan saves her by giving her the Kiss of Life. Ivy survives the accident, but all she can think about is Tristan.

that there is no Suzanne in this book. I've disliked her character for three books straight and I needed a break.

Once again I adored Ivy's character. I'm just still having a hard time understanding why she's in a relationship with Will. I think Will is a good guy and I admired him helping Ivy with Tristan and Gregory in the last books, but I don't see them in a romantic way, and neither does the author (lol). But either way I liked them in this book, and I even felt really bad for Will. Ivy will never love him like he deserves.
And we have Beth. I loved Beth in previous book, but this one not so much. She became the Suzanne of this book.
Next we have Guy.
And I can't forget our two new characters, Kelsey (Beth's cousin) and Dhanya (Kelsey's best friend). I didn't like them. I didn't hate them as much as Suzanne, but I wasn't too fond of them. They seemed very childish and I felt bored with their dialogues. I was never interested in anything they had to say. I could tolerate Dhanya a lot more than Kelsey.
Next, we have the plot. This book was so different from the first three books. The first three books held my attention, and I enjoyed the characters, but I always felt like something was missing. Out of the first three books, I only gave four stars to one of them. I enjoyed those books but they just didn't hit the mark for me, but Evercrossed did. I was kept on the edge of my seat, One of the things that I've admired about this series it's mystery element.
So far I am loving the author's take on angels (they're not exactly like those winged creatures you always see), they're more like this,
and you can only see them if you believe in them. I can't wait to read Mrs. Chandler's take on demons.
Overall, I LOVE the direction that the author is taking this book in. It's unpredictable (which is always a plus), it has romance, and we finally have a demon in this book. I can't wait to read Everlasting!!

When I first bought tis book I didn't realise it was part of a series but luckily I bought the one after this as well so when I am reading that book I will understand what is going on a bit more.
I did enjoy the book but when Tristan and Ivy were able to communicate the the writing was super duper cringey , they are teenagers, not 90 years old! It was like an excerpt out of a Shakespeare play (not that there is anything wrong with his plays I just don't think it really fitted the theme of Evercrossed.

Evercrossed is difficult to review. I felt like the story could have gone somewhere but after 300 pages I've realised that absolutely nothing happened. Literally nothing. With a good deal more outlining this novel would have been much better. The writing wasn't amazing but it was readable and the characters were quite bland.
Overall, a very simple read with little content. Not the worst book I've ever read but not particularly enjoyable either.

(hoopla) pretty intense story with a big cliffhanger! ⚠️ Deals in Ouija boards, spirits, and possession. ⚠️ <--- mostly paints evil as such, but sensitive believers may be uncomfortable.
I would like to continue the series but next book isn't available for free yet. 😅 Might just read descriptions and spoilers instead.

I'm not going to lie, I feel like this one started out a little strangely. I didn't feel the instant connection with the story as I did the previous three, but Elizabeth Chandler sure knows how to keep you guessing and wondering and still put a twist at the end.

Que d’émotions! Encore une fois, je ne suis absolument pas déçue de cette saga. Alors que j’avais des craintes sur la possible redondance de l’histoire, Le retour de l’Ange suit la trame de Le baiser de l’Ange, tout en tâchant de nous garder en haleine. Il y a certes des événements qui se répètent (et je les garde à l’œil parce que ce serait dommage que ça gâche tout), pour autant, l’autrice arrive toujours à nous attraper et nous emmener avec elle aux côtés de ces personnages dont on ne se lasse pas (sauf certains qui nous font lever les yeux au ciel, mention spéciale a Kesley….). Il y a du mystère, des dilemmes, du fantastique, du suspens, de la tension… Vraiment j’adore! J’ai hâte de lire la suite!!

February 4, 2012I was excited to read this book after finishing the previous one 'Soulmates' yesterday, but some things bothered me.
This book is set about eight months after the last one, which was written, I believe in 1995. My version of Soulmates was 'updated' for 2009 so there were references to dead Heath Ledger, Google, and the X-Men films - however, there were no iPhones, iPods, GPS systems etc. Evercrossed was absolutely littered with up-to-date technology and it was just so strange to jump from Soulmates to Evercrossed because of that.
Although the setting has changed, the characters haven't. Suzanne has a stand-in who's exactly like her, down to the mind games she plays with the boy she's chasing, who plays exactly the same game that Gregory played with Ivy. In fact, a lot of the boys in the book have a weird attraction to Ivy and most of the time I was just thinking 'why?' There's nothing particularly interesting about her personality or looks, so we're lead to believe, yet a lot of boys leer at her and it's just weird.
This book is also almost the exact same story as Kissed By An Angel: there's a car crash and a romance developing in much the same way - the two bond over swimming and getting to know each other. I was enjoying this book, for the most part, until 'Guy' was introduced. Then it was just tedious. It's almost like Chandler couldn't think of any other way to build a romance so she went back to the formula that worked in Kissed By An Angel.
And once again I kept overestimating the book because of the red herrings. My plot of this book was more interesting than the actual plot, which went something like

If I have to wait until Book 6, whatever comes after Everlasting, for something interesting to happen and for there to be an actual climax I'm going to be mad! I certainly won't pay full price because Chandler has shown she can't be trusted to deliver a completely interesting and exciting story all the way through. Book 4 suffers from the same fate Books 1 and 2 did - nothing interesting happened beyond the romance and the climax was... well, I can't pass judgement on the climax because there wasn't one.
Also, I've decided I hate Ivy. She's one of the worst self-centred obsessive paranormal romance heroines I've ever read. She's worse than Nora, but not worse than Bella or Luce. I probably enjoyed the last three books because of Tristan, but he's conspicuously absent from this book. Ivy is so obsessed with Tristan that she convinces herself he's trapped in the body of a near-dead homeless amnesiac... WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD DO THAT? She puts complete faith and trust in him with no evidence that he's harmless besides her own feelings... I know this is a book about angels but it's not a book about faith. Those who believe in angels see tangible proof they exist. Ivy's faith in Guy has absolutely no evidence to support it, and it bothers me greatly. Especially seeing as how Guy has no recollection of anything and, as Will rightly points out, could be dangerous: there's even evidence on Guy that Icy sees over and over again (his bruises and cuts) that he's been in some kind of fight before he was found... but no, Ivy's too busy being in her little love bubble to realise people actually want to hurt her again. Stupid.
It's funny... normally my hatred of Ivy would leave this book with only 2 stars, but I would very much like to follow Tristan and Ivy's story all the way through and see how it ends. So it gets 3 stars.

Those who believe in angels see tangible proof they exist. Ivy's faith in Guy has absolutely no evidence to support it, and it bothers me greatly. Especially seeing as how Guy has no recollection of anything and, as Will rightly points out, could be dangerous: there's even evidence on Guy that Icy sees over and over again (his bruises and cuts) that he's been in some kind of fight before he was found... but no, Ivy's too busy being in her little love bubble to realise people actually want to hurt her again. Stupid.
It's funny... normally my hatred of Ivy would leave this book with only 2 stars, but I would very much like to follow Tristan and Ivy's story all the way through and see how it ends. So it gets 3 stars.

So I rated this book three stars which really disappointed me. I wanted to love this book so badly but as you can tell from my rating, I only liked it. Before I talk about what I didn't enjoy about this novel I'll say what I did like.
I gave it one star out of the three just for the sheer joy that I received because Tristan came back; I missed him like the little Tristan fan-girl that I am. I also enjoyed that Chandler does Ivy's and Tristan's history from the other books but twisted around so now Ivy is the one doing things in this book that Tristan did to her in all of the previous novels. Some of the examples that I thought were cute from this were when Ivy thinks Tristan/Guy/Luke is drowning but he was picking up a penny, she teaches him how to swim, the cat, this time she dies in the car accident, etc., I knew the second that Guy rolled into the atrium in the hospital that he was Tristan because of the synopsis (which I thought was a bit too big of a spoiler for the book), so I did enjoy all of the hints between the two although they did drag on a little longer than I thought necessary.
But on the flip-side of that, after Trisluguy (I'm too lazy to write all of his names haha) finally remembers who he really is, he just runs away and that's the end of the book! This has been a very common theme in books that I've been reading and I find it extremely annoying. I know that Chandler and those other authors are trying to add tension and excitement or whatever by doing that but, truthfully, it's just more of an annoyance and frustration than anything else. Chandler could have made the book about 50 pages shorter than it was and used those pages to have more scenes with Trisluguy and Ivy. But instead Chandler only gives us scant pieces of information at the end with him about not knowing who he was, what really happened to Luke. I needed to know more, at least a little bit more of an ending besides, "I know who I am now but now I'm going to run off into the woods and i don't know when you're going to be able to see me again!" I felt like I had just started reading the book after 288 pages.
While I'm on that can I just say that it was a little random that he suddenly remembered who he was because of the penny? Why couldn't he have remembered that when they made out in the pond where they found the penny? I would think that that would bring up more emotions then if he was just randomly staring at it all by himself, which is what I'm assuming is what occurred because, again, she doesn't give much information about it. Even if she decided not to do that, she should have at least put that part where he's staring at the penny and maybe other sections of the book in Trisluguy's perspective.
Honestly, I would have enjoyed it a lot more and gotten some of the answers I wanted without having Ivy know, so Chandler could have kept the suspense.
Oh, and Ivy's friends, especially Beth who I had just loved to death, sucked. Completely, totally, and utterly sucked.
They are so freaking oblivious! When Beth and Ivy and everyone else meets Cole how can they not tell that he's the bad guy! Before he even shows up at the restaurant Beth slips into some sort of weird trance and starts describing a reptile man with grey eyes in chilling detail and guess who shows up?! A guy with grey eyes! Hmmm.... Maybe, just maybe, he might be you like know, bad? And if that isn't enough he's a douche bag to Beth and everyone else, stuck up, idiotic, and the part that really got me mad is they decide to blame Guy?! When he's done absolutely nothing wrong to them! Besides being a little cocky he's an all-around nice guy (in both senses of the word). It's like they go against all manner of instincts that they had in the beginning of the book and take such a 180 to Trisluguy that it didn't really make sense to me.

Quarto capitolo dell’emozionante saga “Baciata da un angelo”, intitolato “In fondo al cuore”, di Elizabeth Chandler.
Alla fine della prima trilogia, abbiamo lasciato Ivy e Will in procinto di iniziare una nuova vita insieme, mentre Tristan, dopo aver adempiuto al suo compito, ha trovato finalmente la pace. Pace che, stando al prologo, – carico di aspetti negativi, quali la violenza e la malvagità – sembra ancora lontana per i nostri protagonisti.
In questo quarto episodio, ritroviamo Ivy in vacanza a Cape Cod, in compagnia dell’inseparabile amica Beth e del suo caro fidanzato Will. Qui, i tre ragazzi si spartiscono il lavoro all’albergo di proprietà della zia preferita di Beth, Cindy, e dividono il cottage di cui sono ospiti con altre due ragazze: Kelsey, l’esuberante e briosa cugina di Beth, e Dhanya, sua simpatica e cordiale amica.
Entrambe sono sempre alla ricerca di emozioni forti e di feste a cui prendere parte, per cercare di accalappiare giovani scapoli aitanti e, soprattutto, ricchi. Più serena, invece, trascorre la vita per Ivy e Will, che da otto mesi fanno ormai coppia fissa. Ciò che lei non ha il coraggio di confessare nemmeno a se stessa, però, è che Tristan è sempre al centro dei suoi pensieri e che l’amore che provava per lui è tuttora vivo e potente dentro di lei, come se fosse il primo giorno. Ivy prova in tutti i modi di sopprimere questo sentimento, nel rispetto di Will, ma... il destino ci mette nuovamente lo zampino.
Una sera molto tardi, infatti, Dhanya chiama Ivy e le chiede il favore di venire a prendere lei e Kelsey ad una festa, essendo loro troppo ubriache per guidare e tornare a casa. Beth decide di non lasciare da sola la sua migliore amica e le due vanno, così, alla ricerca delle ragazze, quando, all’improvviso, si scontrano con un’altra auto e hanno un grave incidente. Incidente in cui Ivy ci lascia le penne.
Per qualche attimo sospeso, lei si trova catapultata in un mondo parallelo, tuttavia, al suo fianco, appare Tristan che non soltanto le giura di non lasciarla mai, ma che la riporta in vita, grazie al cosiddetto “bacio della vita”.
Ivy finisce in ospedale e agli occhi dei medici la sua guarigione appare miracolosa, eppure lei sa bene ciò che ha vissuto, ciò che ha visto e sente Tristan più vicino che mai. Ma Ivy non è l’unica ad esser finita in ospedale quella stessa notte: un altro ragazzo è stato ritrovato su una spiaggia, vicino al luogo dell’incidente, privo di conoscenza e pestato a sangue, e, da allora, lui non ricorda niente di sé e del suo passato. Tutti lo chiamano Guy e Ivy fa presto la sua conoscenza, ma... chi è, in realtà, questo bellissimo smemorato? I due eventi, di cui sono stati vittime, sono in qualche modo collegati tra loro? E Ivy si può fidare di lui?
Anche in questo nuovo romanzo, Elizabeth Chandler mette in rilievo i suoi punti di forza: la caratterizzazione dei personaggi, dei quali è impossibile non intuirne la vera natura, e l’inserimento di indizi durante lo sviluppo della trama.
Ciononostante, da un prologo che mi ha provocato i bruciori di stomaco per il nervoso, si passa agli improperi che ho lanciato al primo capitolo, provocati dalla stupidità di Ivy e Beth. Mi chiedo, infatti, come possano tutte e due acconsentire ad una seduta spiritica con una tavola Ouija, dopo tutto quello che hanno passato l’anno precedente e con la consapevolezza che Beth è un “portale naturale” tra il mondo dei vivi e quello dei morti. Comunque, credo che ciò si sia reso necessario per il proseguo della storia e, allo stesso tempo, per un nuovo cambio direzionale.
Dopodiché, la narrazione si svolge lineare, sullo stesso piano, fino a che non si giunge ai tre capitoli finali. È proprio in questi ultimi che si concentra l’azione, che si trovano le risposte alle tante domande, che si ha un colpo di scena inaspettato, che si ha un epilogo in medias res, che... che aspettate a leggerlo? ;)

What I liked in this book is that it was short. I was angry at Ivy, Beth and Will throughout the 5 hours it took me to finish it. Ivy the I-Know-Everything girl is back. Beth warns her Gregory is back for her, she doesn't believe her because she has a great imagination. However, she doesn believe Tristan is back taking over Guy's body. Will acts like her bodyguard, the guy that will do anything for her but sticks too close to Beth. Since the very beginning it's obvious that Beth and Will would make a much better couple. Of course, Will is also a victim of the whole thing.
As I said in my previous review for the Book 1-3 Kissed by An Angel, Ivy made a great mistake going out with Will, and admiting she loved him only weeks after Tristan's death, only a day or two after he followed the Light.
Lacey is all right calling Ivy the Chick.
Beth used to be my favourite character but I didn't really like her in this book. Of course, under the discovery probably Gregory is in her, things look a bit better for her.
I spent a good part of the book thinking how stupid Ivy is, how the characters of the previous 3 books were repeated with different names, and who could be the new Gregory since there were guys that were so close to his character and Eric's.
Suzanne is still a selfish brat for me, and Kelsey being so much like her....hmmm let's say I don't really like Kelsey too but she is a bit better than Suzanne.
I will read the other books too, well because I have the 5th one and because I want to see how this ends up but I believe the writer should have left the story alone and never had continued it.
Eternal love is a great theme but many things seem wrong.
Ivy helped a guy, an unknown guy escape the hospital. That's a crime. She got away with it. Many things are wrong with the way she acts, how she trusts guys and then feels betrayed when they aren't what she thought they are. Well, you can't tell you love unconditionally someone when you know them only for some days and actually you know nothing about them. Ivy goes around sharing her love to anyone that is mysterious and shows her affection.
When Guy became Luke, a murderer, she felt betrayed yada yada. Then when he came back and told her about that one memory in the pool (one that the creep Gregory could have known) she believed him immediately. I would have asked more questions, especially after I spent a chapter thinking of him as a murderer. Ivy is 18, right? well, she acts like some 14 years old girls I know.
Another thing that gets to me. Kelsey plays the same game with a guy Gregory and Suzanne played. Well... if I was Ivy having gone through what I have gone through, first I wouldn't really seek Suzanne's company and second I would stay away of Kelsey's plaything. I wouldn't need another Gregory and Eric in my life.
The characters still seem flat to me.
I would have prefered it if Ivy had stayed with Will, if they story was over in the 3rd book. I mean.... I don't even want to think of what I will read in the next two books.

OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!OMG!
It was amazing!!!!
The book is set a year after last books events. Ivy is in cape cod with Will and Beth and her two cousins for holidays. One day they have a seance and end up releasing gregory's soul! But when Ivy has a fatal accident, tristan has to give the kiss of life which bring her back to life - however this leads to him getting banished from heaven, sent to earth in another body. furthermore, Ivy meets an amnesiac guy and they end up spending time together.
The plot was awesome with Elizabeth chandlers famous twists and turns, that left me guessing righ till the end. Some spooky scenes that gave me the creeps and swoony romance.
As for the characters, Ivy was really gullible, thoughtless and harsh. All she cared about was Guy and completely ignored beths warnings, aswell as treating Will like a doormat. Beth was kinda naggy but Will was always looking out for her and i felt bad for him. Guy was slightly creepy at times but overall quite liked him. Others: kelsey, dhanya, max and bryan were also fun to read.
The ending was a massive twist and a massive cliffhanger; you still dont really know the truth about "GUY"

At the end guy says he is Tristan and here are my theories about it:
1)Guy is Gregory pretending to be tristan and Tristan hasnt managed to find Ivy yet (there are a lot of clues for that - he acts pretty creepy sometimes + Beth's dream + when the ouijah board says "gregory is here", its only ivy, beth and guy in the house + it would be easy for him to get inside a muderer's head)
2)Guy is tristan, and Gregory is inside Beth's head (thats why she starts acting wierd after the accident and when the ouijah borad says he is here, Beth is in the house)
3)Guy is tristan, and Gregory has been going inside different people's heads: Max, bryan ( In the ouijah board scene, maybe his spirit was there, but not inside anyone + when beth has that dream and she says he is outside the house, it turns out to be max and bryan + theres a scene where bryan acts really similar to gregory; flirting games with kelsey and flirting with ivy to make her jealous like gregory used to do with suzanne + one of the guys says that the car that hit them was probs the type of car that max owns, this means it could be him possesed by gregory trying to kill them)
*exhale* Gosh that was a lot! I sound like an obsessive wierdo! LOL

Beware of spoilers!
In the fourth installment of the Kissed by an Angel series, we find Ivy, Will, and Beth spending the summer in Cape Cod working for Beth’s Aunt Cindy at her inn. The one year anniversary of Tristan’s death is fast approaching and everyone is keeping a close eye on Ivy.
When Ivy and Beth go to pick up Dhanya and Kelsey (the other two girls that are working at the inn for the summer) from a party, Ivy gets in a car accident. Ivy has an out of body experience and sees Tristan. He kisses her and she wakes up in the hospital. Everyone sees the amount of blood in the car and call it a miracle she survived.
While Ivy is at the hospital she meets another guy, one who doesn’t remember his name that was pulled out of the sea and was badly beaten. Everyone at the hospital calls him Guy as in guy unknown. Ivy eventually breaks Guy out of the hospital as he’s desperate to escape.
Will and Beth don’t like Ivy hanging out with Guy and after a séance gone wrong, Beth starts having bad dreams and is convinced that Gregory is back and that Ivy shouldn’t be so trusting. But the more Ivy hangs out with Guy, the more she is convinced that it’s Tristan and he’s somehow come back to her.
Then Guy’s real name is discovered; Luke and he’s wanted for murder. Were Ivy’s friends right all along?
With how bad the previous book, Soulmates, was I really didn’t know what to expect with this installment. But I found it to be a nice easy read that doesn’t make you think a whole lot, but is a decent read all the same.
This one had your typical love triangle with Will loving Ivy and her falling for Guy. It still amazes me how quickly she jumps from one guy to the next though. Some might be upset about Ivy and Will breaking up, but that didn’t really bother me as I never felt they were right for each other. And up to the point when they got together, I thought that Beth and Will were going to start dating.
All of Ivy’s friends were thinking that Guy was Gregory coming back for revenge and I was trying to decide if Guy was the bad person here, but I never really thought he was. Max, Bryan, and Chase were all good candidates though!

In the fourth installment of the Kissed by an Angel series, we find Ivy, Will, and Beth spending the summer in Cape Cod working for Beth’s Aunt Cindy at her inn. The one year anniversary of Tristan’s death is fast approaching and everyone is keeping a close eye on Ivy.
When Ivy and Beth go to pick up Dhanya and Kelsey (the other two girls that are working at the inn for the summer) from a party, Ivy gets in a car accident. Ivy has an out of body experience and sees Tristan. He kisses her and she wakes up in the hospital. Everyone sees the amount of blood in the car and call it a miracle she survived.
While Ivy is at the hospital she meets another guy, one who doesn’t remember his name that was pulled out of the sea and was badly beaten. Everyone at the hospital calls him Guy as in guy unknown. Ivy eventually breaks Guy out of the hospital as he’s desperate to escape.
Will and Beth don’t like Ivy hanging out with Guy and after a séance gone wrong, Beth starts having bad dreams and is convinced that Gregory is back and that Ivy shouldn’t be so trusting. But the more Ivy hangs out with Guy, the more she is convinced that it’s Tristan and he’s somehow come back to her.
Then Guy’s real name is discovered; Luke and he’s wanted for murder. Were Ivy’s friends right all along?
With how bad the previous book, Soulmates, was I really didn’t know what to expect with this installment. But I found it to be a nice easy read that doesn’t make you think a whole lot, but is a decent read all the same.
This one had your typical love triangle with Will loving Ivy and her falling for Guy. It still amazes me how quickly she jumps from one guy to the next though. Some might be upset about Ivy and Will breaking up, but that didn’t really bother me as I never felt they were right for each other. And up to the point when they got together, I thought that Beth and Will were going to start dating.

With the ending of Kissed by an Angel, I really don’t see the need for this book. And after reading it, I still don’t see the reasoning…but I do know that the end of this book definitely leaves it open for another book in this series. So I won’t be surprised when a fifth book is released. (Not sure if I’ll bother reading it, though…)
That being said, I did like the book…I just didn’t know why it was written! As I did with the three before it, I felt that the book was lacking in not action, but in the way situations are described. For some reason, Ivy seems like a really shallow character, and she’s a little annoying with all the angel stuff. If I was being honest, I’d tell you that I almost put the first two books down because of the obsession with angels. It’s not so much as weird as strange, what with all the paranormal books nowadays.
The foundation for the books is good I guess; Ivy’s boyfriend dies in a car accident and it seems that he’s haunting her—but only to help her. Which hey, I’m happy he’s a good angel, and not some evil incarnate-crazed-boyfriend-blaming-her-for-his-death type of boyfriend, but c’mon; that’s nothing new. There are hundreds, if not thousands of novels out there about people coming back from the ‘dead’ to haunt people. Which, in my mind, is a very useless storyline; once you’re dead, you’re dead. So, I don’t think I will be picking up another ‘angel’ book for a while.
Back to the topic at hand: Evercrossed was a nice addition to the series. (*SMALL SPOILER*) The ending definitely has a twist and it’s a little weird. I also feel bad for Ivy’s new boyfriend, Will. Ivy treats him like crap in some of the book, she’s basically only thinking about herself and wants she wants without considering the feelings of those around her. But back to the ending: I definitely didn’t see it coming, and it’s all Lifetime-movie-ish, but it’s fanned out nicely, and it takes the entire book to really come to a close, even if I did sorta have a small inkling of what was going to happen (Ivy is so predictable, sometimes!).
Elizabeth Chandler is definitely going to make fans happy with the sequel to their beloved Kissed by an Angel series (I thought it was a trilogy…but I guess that changed!).
